Maybe its just me, but it seems to be that everytime I read a post its always the same members that reply. Maybe again that's because they know it all and we don,t. ELVIS, is , was , and always will be for everyone full stop. That's the way ELVIS wanted it and GOD bless him that's the way it is. Please instead of texting between yourselves encourage younger and non members to have their say.

anybody can have their say....nobody stops anyone from answering anything....some of us have stronger opinions than others....but everyone can reply to whatever they want...so not sure what you mean? If they don't choose to - we can't help that. And there are some younger members in here answering: Jen (presley31) Danielle (Burning Love) Linda (Rising Sun) just to name a few Marija and also Yadee, etc. there are numerous young ones in here answering and they sure tell us their opinion - as it should be - they are all wonderful young ladies.......if I'm misunderstanding what you mean, please forgive me and maybe explain it again?

I encourage ALL to post . Makes for a nicer and varied view.
On any site I've been on; there seems to be only a few that interact.
Some are bashful; some are intimidated by the boastful, loud mouthed ones that just seem to like to keep something stirred up. ;)
Though I've been here a short time--I'm not a young thing. Certainly not new to Elvis; nor do I know everything. Most of us have areas we're more interested in than others.
. I'd love to hear from any new, younger generation. Sometimes "young eyes " catch things we'd never see. So speak up --so I can learn what you know too. :)
No one knows "everything" about Elvis. There's just too much info out here about him.
Welcome to TCB World.

I'm a bit confused also.....I thought Elvis611 is saying that none of the younger people post in the forum threads, which is not so.......so Elvis611....please explain what you mean??? We want to understand okay? Everyone is welcome anywhere.....threads, chats, etc.

Elvis611...first thing, welcome here! :)
And then, if you feel like somebody is talking too much, too loud, too fast, you BELT him or her! Seriously, young member can have their say, just post and we will read what you have to say. And of course Elvis is for everybody, even if you don't know much about details like dates, releases, jumpsuits, MM members,...:)

I am a relatively young fan (30 years old). I do not post replies on all topics basically because I do not know everything about Elvis, far from it. There may be topics which don't interest me personally (even though they may be interesting to most of you).
When I started following Elvis, everything I read (there was no internet at the time) was new to me. I was bombarded with new facts, rumours everytime I picked up a book or magazine. Today we have fora like this where different great individuals (young and old) share information and opinions which may be new to some, even older fans. I think that the members of this forum are a mine of information about the King so keep posting!!

I find this thread hard to understand seeing as you have been a member since February 2006 and you only have 8 posts to your name. Why didn't you reply to other threads yourself. It is obvious from your post that you have been keeping an eye on who posts to what thread, so how come you haven't posted much yourself.
Is it just me or do others find this baffling :hmm:

Don't let anyone keep you from joining in-if they treat you rudely or disrespect you report it to the Mods here. Respect is the key word to disagreeing with a little grace and tact.

I agree with Cameron. I think some people get intimidated because sometimes I do. So often I see a good debate turn sour because people start arguing and and cutting each other down. I'm gonna admit that I do not know everything about Elvis but I would like to learn all that I don't know. I also would to join in the forums more:D

Yes, Jen. A person, whom I adore, gave me some advice a long time ago, that "you have to stand up for yourself, and be true to you, you will feel better for it".
I would feel just horrible, people would say things to me, this place is nice, in comparison, and I didn't say anything back, just remove my post. Not good.
So, yes.

Sometimes, even that doesn't help. Block the rude ones from view.
It helps a great deal . ;)
One can express their opinion without being mean or hateful IMO.

I'm not going to block anyone I come here to have a little fun and converse about a subject I enjoy discussing. But I try not to be rude and expect the same from everyone who interacts with me. The rules of the forum ask for people to respect each other and not be rude-I obey them as everyone should. Its not a huge burden for anyone to be respectful-just decide to do it and the rest is easy.

If you read my post that I've quoted above, you will see this person has been a member of this forum since February 2006 and now has 7 posts to their name. They did have 8 when I first posted but obviously one was taken away.
I just find it very strange that someone would come on with a new thread and talk about how they notice that it is the same people who reply to threads etc, and then they try to encourage others to post to threads in the future, join it etc. Yet they haven't done it themselves seeing as they have so little posts.
I really am baffled by this.

Well, they may be speaking (Sorry Elvis611, hope you don't mind me saying, I hope I may be helping) in the third person, as they themselves, feel uncomfortable, and are looking for some reassurance, so they themselves, feel comfortable enough to post.

I hear what you are saying but they would only have to post to things they felt comfortable with if this was the case. I don't post to everything myself because there are certain things I'm uncomfortable with, but there is a lot of things on the forum that I will post to and I think this would be the case with a lot of other members

Hi KPM, I find your posts interesting, informative and above all civil. I enjoy you posts and would welcome more of your thoughts on any subject!
Unfortunately there are those who participate on this forum who are wolves in sheeps clothing, they protest in such a way as to put themselves in a good light, but really they create more trouble than those who are alledgedly the trouble makers.

Well, I will since if I respond it is me that gets reported.
It is the rules. some just don't follow them.
It's all pretty childish IMO to stalk and provoke others.
So, I choose to block the nasty comments.
Who needs that ?

well basically you don't get pulled into the bull. just ignore it or politely respond back...."thanks" or whatever.....this will forestall any confrontations.....

No posters should be intimidating anyone to not have their say. Hopefully no one is feeling intimidated. All should be here to support each other, to promote ELVIS..... and to especially encourage and help the newer ELVIS fans.
Okay...that is my two cents...taking my arthritic bones down off my ELVIS soapbox. :D

I think it's very simple really, I don't block anyone and read everything. If I feel I have something to say about a post I do and if I don't, I don't.
I try to respect everyone, hope I do.
