That was certainly one of the best times for Elvis Jen, also when Lisa was born. I think that was a very special time in his life for him too.

I think he was the happiest when he first started out in the 50s, and yes when his mom was alive.
Not sure about the 60s Jen...In the early 60s I think he wasn't very happy because of all the movies and stuff.
But I think he was happy when he married Cilla and did The Comeback Special :D
And yes, Lisa of course....he loved his precious daughter :D
Nice, positive thread indeed Jen

As much as I loved him in the 70's, I would definately say he WAS NOT the happiest then. I would agree he was the happiest when his career was taking off in the 50's and his mom was there to be a part of it. I am sure he was in his glory when he was able to give back to him mom after seeing stuggle to make her family happy. I also agree with Diane that he bloomed again when Lisa was born.

I think he had happy moments all along his life even when times seemed to get rough for him. Happiness is constructed with the little things of life and I think he was a man that could enjoy and had the ability to recognize those little things.

I have to agree with Donut also. Elvis did have the capability of getting tickled about all kinds of situations all through his life without which we may have lost him even sooner.

For all the comfort and happiness I`ve got from the man,I hope he is at his happiest right now...sorry if that sounds too sentimental...but it`s the way I feel.Thank you Elvis.

When I look at some footage and hear his records from '69, I think that was his happiest year until 1972.

When he first became famous, he was young, just getting famous, his dream was coming true, and his mother was alive.

I think Elvis was happiest when he was able to give to others. That kept him grounded..
Of course, first & foremost when his mom was alive & the birth of his daughter, Lisa.

I think that he was the happiest back in the fifties, when he still had his mama...and then when Lisa was born.

I think he was at his happiest when he came back in '69.
He was in a great mood, and did record some fine songs and had great concerts in Vegas.
I think he was happy, because they didn't forgot him.

Ditto what Burning Love said, 100 percent
Probaby 3 things would be his happiest times IMO -when he bought Graceland and took his parents to see their new home he was giving them. He knew how poor they had been and the hardships his mom and dad had endured and he was rewarding them-had to be a happy time.
The other time would be in 68 when Lisa was born and his career started its upswing-the elation of those happening within months of each other had to be very happy and fulfilling for him.
Also His opening night in Vegas-that first engagement with reviews that could not have been better even if he or Parker had written them.

Elvis said that the first Christmas he spend in Graceland was the happiest Xmas he ever had.---"My mom was alive--everything was just perfect"EP I
also think that the birth of Lisa brought him alot of happiness__he probably had his ups and downs like we all do.__Life is made up of moments --some happy---some sad---he probably---like us...enjoy the happy ones and strugle to the hard ones.I know----he was ELVIS PRESLEY,and everything he wanted in a material way....but Im sure he had moments when he would trade all the fame and fortune for happiness....he said that he was happy when he was home"Memphis"with his family ---especially during the week end
when he would just sat around and watch tv.....go for a ride.....

Elvis was his happiest when Lisa was born, no question.
On the professional side, I think he was happiest with his Jaycees Award. And I reckon Aloha must have made him pretty chuffed with what they'd accomplished that night.

When he was alreaddy the King but not the pressure yet.
When he married and became a father.

I think the happiest moment of Elvis life was the day he was born. I also believe it was the happiest moment of their lives for his mom and dad too.

I guess his best times where '56-'57 when everything was like walking in a dream, apart from that, we have never seen his eyes sparkle so much as in the '68-'70, from the day Lisa was born to the days of TTWII.
It is not coincidence that '56 and '69 where his most creative years, happines in live makes you work better, succes in your career gives you more happines.

if you think about your own life it very hard to choose happiest times.
was it about when you have first bicycle or first car or being father.
being father my happiest time:)
I heard he is very happy because of good girlfriend Ann Margaret (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0ahx7118H4) in 1963 when he was top of the hill and he don't know where he was?

I would really like to think that Elvis' life held many, many very happy times for him. But if I had to choose, just by standing on the outside looking in, I would def say that he very much enjoyed having the chance to provide for his parents, especially Gladys, in a manner in which they were not accustomed to living. Being able to give them Graceland, and cars, and lots of other extra's...just the thought that they would never again struggle financially brought him great joy. I think he was also very happy when he became a father. I think that he wanted very much to be a good Daddy to Lisa, and thus spoiled her terribly...lol, but ya can't really blame him for that. Elvis often showed love by 'giving'....and he gave a lot to those around him. Including the fans....in so many ways. I like to think that he had moments of pure happiness when he walked onstage and performed for those who loved him dearly. :king:
I think Elvis was at his happiest maybe in 1955-56. He was young, healthy, his mum was still alive, he had just discovered he could make a career of what he wanted most of all; sing! He had also just started to get money and could create a comfortable life for himself and his family. As a young man in in his early 20s, I donīt think he saw many problems in life at that time...
Of course when Lisa Marie was born, that most also have been a very happy moment for him. I donīt doubt that he loved her more than anything. But he was already struggeling with drugs, being depressed at times, and his marriage didnīt work that well.
