I know, this has probably been posted sooooo many times but i had to say this.
I was reading 'Elvis And Me' and when Priscilla is describing when she went back to Graceland, and upstairs to his room and could still smell his esscence.

Then it hit me.

He's gone.

He is actually dead.

Then i could not stop crying, i felt like an *****.

I come on here, Tcb-world, and look at pictures of him, listen to music and talk about him, and believe he is alive. I weren't around when Elvis was, yet i still feel him here. I feel as if, when i watch TTWII, i am watching it as if it is on daytime television and everyone else is watching.

It's a strange feeling.

But i guess i like it.

Then i realised, he is alive, through spirit.
His songs speak to us, as he pours his heart and soul into them.
The pictures have a story behind them.

And the man remains a legend.

Guess what.. I have been thinking this same lately a lot. And I am glad that you have written it here.

It is so unbelivable.. I have lately watched some of him movies and some concert stuff. And it really feel he would be still here with us.. it is so unbelivable. Yesterday I was watching my Comeback ?68 Deluxe Box.. and I couldn't have thought it all happened 39years ago. I cannot belivable but I have cried several times watching him... :blush:
And when I finished reading "Elvis - the final years" book.. i couldn't help but cry..because I was so sad to read that he is really gone. Gone.. over 30 years ago already. It is so hard to put these feelings into words..

You express yourself really well in the written word and you are so not alone in the way you are feeling about Elvis.... I remember when I was 15 back in 1991 they showed this is Elvis for the first time on TV and when it got to the end and the funeral footage was shown I cried uncontroably...my mum could not believe my reaction but I could not help it. My heart was actually aching.It was at that moment I realised how much I really loved him.

Thanks for posting this about the Unchained Melody live '77. After all these years I still cannot watch it without shedding bitter tears -each time. I never dared to write that publicly again. I've been flamed badly on another forum years ago -a German one, these people are just terrible about him :-(

Footage of the funeral I cannot watch until today and probably never will. I NEVER had a closer look at Meditation Garden, just rushed by pictures, never kept any of these nor footage. I won't go to Graceland for that reason, because I don't think he's still there -so many terrible things happened after he'd left -to his faithful friends who were fired from the estate etc, and there is nothing left what has to do with him.

Each August 16 is the saddest day on the entire year. I sure had my load of bad periods and personal tragedies, but nothing ever hit me that hard and longlasting as that fatal day in '77. It was so untimely, so unreal, perhaps at the time the better part of us believed he's immortal ! and today I still believe it -in a way, yes he's probably the most immortal person who ever lived, because the love of his fans grows with each passing year -so I hope at least.

I won't go to Graceland for that reason, because I don't think he's still there -so many terrible things happened after he'd left -to his faithful friends who were fired from the estate etc, and there is nothing left what has to do with him.

Each August 16 is the saddest day on the entire year. I sure had my load of bad periods and personal tragedies, but nothing ever hit me that hard and longlasting as that fatal day in '77. It was so untimely, so unreal, perhaps at the time the better part of us believed he's immortal ! and today I still believe it -in a way, yes he's probably the most immortal person who ever lived, because the love of his fans grows with each passing year -so I hope at least.

Danielle, Marija, Rover, all ya'll, I'm getting warm fuzzies! i just got my hair cut & found out that my hairdresser is an Elvis fan. i was reading a book & i use these eaxtra Elvis trading cards (my set is almost complete- just need one last card!) as bookmarks. Kara noticed it & we started talking Elvis. she does some guys hair that use to be a gas station attendant that Elvis stopped at & she said he told her that even though he wasn't gay, Elvis was the most attractive man he'd ever met!
