Blog Press Release Press Release from:

Elliott Otto
Elvis Presley is likely turning over in his grave from the shockwaves that are about to be felt by the release of a new jaw dropping book. On the 30th Anniversary of his death, Elvis’ personal footbutler has decided to take the foot out of his mouth and tell the world his story in the book Hunka Hunka Burning Feet: The Footastic Story of Wilsie Butters, the Footbutler of Elvis Presley. Wilsie Butters was hired to be a footbutler by Elvis in the mid 1960’s and continued working with the Elvis estate until 2007. The book chronicles his life with Elvis from his hiring to his death and the

Elvis - refused to have his feet photographed
subsequent relationship with Priscilla and Lisa Marie.

Butters broke his silence to the What The? Morning Show on CFUV 101.9 FM in Victoria, Canada. “I know stories that will make your toes curl.” Butters told host Craig Richardson, “I held Elvis’ feet when he died. The King valued me so much he put in his Will that I was to stay with the estate forever.” When asked if this book was revenge because he was fired for allegedly putting steroids on Lisa Marie’s feet, Butter’s responded, “Definitely. When I was terminated it voided the confidentiality clause I signed with Elvis. This book will kick Lisa-Marie in the Dutes – if she had any”

Butters was not formally trained as a footbutler as he spent two years as the drummer for Elvis’ band. Elvis was known to have foot problems, and one day before a show in Dallas, Butters noticed Elvis was having trouble walking. He offered his assistance as his mother was a foot masseuse. After half an hour of massaging, lancing a boil and some Chinese toe physiotherapy, Elvis got on stage and performed the show of a lifetime. Butters claims that “After the show Elvis came up to me and said, ‘You are my footbutler’ but I am the drummer, ‘Your drumming days are over boy, you are my footbutler’ It was at that point I gave up my life to a higher calling – Elvis’ Feet. I have not regretted it one bit.”

Although he developed a “close” relationship with Priscilla, he originally told Elvis to stop the relationship because her feet stunk. “They were like a pair rotten mustard covered halibut. It took years of diet and therapy before they were acceptable to the King” Butters had numerous encounters with celebrities although he only remembers them by their feet. “Elvis told me to look him in the feet not the eye because I was paid as a footbutler not an eye butler.” The most frightening experience he had was with O.J. Simpson. “He was jealous that I was looking at his girlfriend’s feet and told me to stare at her breasts because ‘that’s what I paid for’” While Butters searches for a publisher, he is planning to perform a dramatic reading from the book as part of an Elvis tribute show he is organizing with lounge singer Tommy Carson at Rick’s Lounge in Laughlin, Nevada on October 9th, the 34th anniversary of Elvis’ divorce from Priscilla.

No offense, but I think that this guy is just plain crazy....I'd put him in the same category as Wanda June Hill. There is no mention of this man whatsoever in Elvis's will that I'm aware of.....

He held Elvis's feet when he died? Geez. Give me a break!:lol::lol:

Hi,
I heard about this in circles several years ago. I never thought much about it until I saw your story. Elvis was known to have foot problems and as most of you know, his podiatrist lived right next to Graceland. In his later years, the drugs made him do some new things and EPE tries to suppress this information. There supposedly was even talk of a tour guide who mentioned some of these facts, including the footbutler and was promptly fired. But EPE denies it, (what else could they do?) So I will just wait for the book.

Huh?

Until this ridiculous thread, not once in being a fan for almost 40 years have I read, seen or heard that Elvis had foot problems.

(And if these problems existed, some on here would no doubt blame them on his childhood, depression, "addiction" genes etc etc ... blah, blah, blah.)

And as for the podiatrist living next door to Graceland? Wha ---? What was the guy's name ... and what is the source of this information?

Elvis had toe problems to be exact.

He had ingrowing tow nails.

You can see it in a few photo's of him. Khang Rhee let him wear socks at some of his Karate sessions as Elvis's toes were in bad shape.

He did visit that foot place beside Graceland, it's on the turn for Dolan drive you can't miss it.

Elvis had an appointment for Aug/Sept 1977, he didn't live to make it.

If you go past up and walk up Dolan drive a bit you can see the back entrance Elvis used to go into it.

did he really have ingrown nail problems? In "Revelations From The Memphis Mafia" they said that Elvis would dig in his toes behind his nails to say he had an ingrown nail problem to get pills.....they said he did this several times because he knew the medical reference book on medications so well he knew what ailments to go in with - to get the meds he wanted. This happened I think mainly in Vegas and California.....I think....can't remember if they mentioned Mephis or not.

This isn't true either. If EP had real ingrown toenail problem then he would not have been able to tour so much and be on his feet like he was. He also would not have been able to wear the boots. I have had a serious problem with ingrown toenail on my big toe and to this day whenever it begins to give me pain, I have to cut it in an angle to keep it from growing into the skin. This problem would have been unbearable for EP to focus on performing.

About that book Revelations of The Memphis Mafia. That book was made to blackmail Lisa Marie when she married Jackson. Hence the personal attacks on EP's hygiene's.

Elvis had ingrowing toenails. Whether he hurt himself to get meds (which woulden't suprise me) or if it was genuine I don't know, but he did have problems with his toe nails.

You can see it in pictures of Elvis with Khang Rhee where he is wearing socks as Khang Rhee allowed him too as normally you are not. Elvis was allowed to wear socks due to his toe problem.

Also, other pictures from Elvis doing Karate in the 70's cleary show his big toe bandaged up due to his toenail problem.

As for Revelations being writen to blackmail Lisa? I have never heard such an outlandish statement in my entire life. And if for one second you are suggesting Billy Smith ever did anything to hurt Elvis then thank god for small mercy's that you don't meet any of Billy's friends.

Why would they not have anything to do with Billy Smith who no one can argue has EVER done anything to harm Elvis and EVERYONE agrees was the person Elvis LOVED the most.

Mixture of Priscilla's greed and Lisa being too young when it all happened and her being naive.

I have read lots of others things kelly not just that book, and l don't believe for one min the MM were helping when they two were getting all high on pills and etc. LIsa saw alot kelly and she says alot of rotten names for them so there must be more to the story than what we are reading. Lisa Marie is only saying things he mother told her. She was too young to see much. And far too young to understand what was going on. That drives me nuts when she says that stuff. She should be so candid about what she saw when she was spending time with Mom.

Pricilla did not like the MM from way back. She saw them as a threat to her power and money source. They know the truth about her and that is why she dislikes them. To those attempting to start an argument with me, you will be reported as I just did one particular member. I am not going to fight with any more members that try to get under my skin. It's not going to work.

Back to the topic-here is what Marty Lacker said about this supposed "footbutler".

Another bullsh*t story. I got his "Footbutler" up his ***. Elvis had no need for any such thing nor did he ever hire this guy or anyone else to take care of his feet except a podiatrist whose office was next door to Graceland when he had a foot problem a couple of times. Anybody who believes this guy or buys his book really needs to see a "Headbutler!" Commonly known as a psyhciatrist.

Oh, I do hope it was me you reported!

And you have not answered me or the others on this thread asking you for your source about Revelations being written to blackmail Lisa.

Will you actually say why/how you believe this ... ?

EP75

Revelations was released shortly after Lissa married Michael Jackson. David Stanley went on television and said EP wouldn't accept his daughter marrying a black man. I believe he said this on Heraldo. The Mafia then went on television and blasted EP on Dateline. Then Lisa came out and said she hoped they all burn in hell. Hell the KKK even came after her.

The Mafia was out to destroy both Lisa and Priscilla. Billy Smith was fired from Graceland and went after both of them and that was a big mistake on his part. He and the rest of the mafia are banned for life from ever stepping foot on the Graceland property. To be honest, they are all fortunate Lisa didn't have them taken out one by one for the things they have said about her beloved father who they claimed was their friend. If I were her, I would have.

So, you're quoting David Stanley ... on Geraldo as your source? Hmmmm. Interesting. And exactly what is the evidence for blackmail, aside from your own assumptions?

And what is your source for the KKK coming after Lisa? Do you have a net link or newspaper reference or something?

Another point, EP75: Revelations was written by Alanna Nash, the same woman who wrote the book about The Colonel which suggested the whole thing about Elvis not touring overseas was because The Colonel couldn't get a passport - a theory to which you have admitted to subscribing.

So, is Nash telling the truth with one book and lying in the other?

And what, precisely, was the reason behind this "blackmail"? What did they want from Lisa? What were they trying to do? I see nothing in your previous post that further supports your claim.

Perhaps a new thread should be started for this??

At the time of these concerts, crossing the US-Canada border did not require a passport. And it was '57, not '56.

I have read lots of others things kelly not just that book, and l don't believe for one min the MM were helping when they two were getting all high on pills and etc. LIsa saw alot kelly and she says alot of rotten names for them so there must be more to the story than what we are reading. To be frank the MM wouldn't want lisa to come out with a book, there little serects would be blown wide open. But that again is just my belief.

Pick one member of the MM who is SCARED of Lisa Marie! Have you ever met the MM! They would roll over laughing at that!

Shes done enough to ruin her own rep without help from anyone else.

Lisa should have stayed in touch with Billy and that side of the family instead of beliving they were all so poor they wern't worth it.

Horrible carry on from her, horrible.

The same guy that treated Elvis is still working in the podiatrist place next to Graceland from what I believe.

What a load of rats ***.

They can all go up to Graceland when they want and I ask you to provide a quote from them or EPE saying otherwise.

Billy was working as a tour guide at Graceland and then as Tour Operations manager when Jack Soden fired him for his love/hate relationship with the place.

Billy could've earned more on the railroad but he worked at Graceland in the tours dept.

Don't talk about things you don't understand. Rant about the rest of the MM, but Elvis would kick your *** if he heard you speak about Billy that way and he would kick it good.

EP75, I'm not arguing with you, I promise....but.....the book was released "shortly after" Lisa married Michael - have you seen this book? It's HUGE - larger than the bible. This book was in the works way before Lisa married Michael.....there is no way they could have gotten together and said, "Lisa is marrying a black man, let's all get together and write this life and times book of Elvis and us - just to blackmail her"......see how silly that sounds?

Indeed.

Sonny goes up to the house reasonably regularly. He contacts Jack Soden when he's in town and "it's never been a problem" to go there.

No one from the MM is "banned for life" from Graceland. Just another outrageous claim from EP75 / Lakeisha that cannot be supported with facts.

Although, I'd imagine that most of the MM would stay away anyway.

If I'm not mistaken, Sonny does mention going back to Graceland twice after Elvis's passing and then again on the eve of the twentieth anniversary of Elvis's passing:

"In 1982, Priscilla opened Graceland to the public. Now the Presley estate is a thriving enterprise to the tune of $40 to $50 million a year. Elvis has been the top dead celebrity earner for the past decade, his image and memory bringing in more than those of Marilyn Monroe, John Lennon, George Harrison, and James Dean.

A year after Graceland opened, I called Jack Soden, cheif executive officer of Elvis Presley Entperises, and asked to visit along with Jeff Cook, a member of the group "Alabama". Jack has always been a gentleman to me despite the fact that Priscilla and I haven't maintained a friendship. He said to come on over and met us on our arrival.

When I entered the foyer at Graceland, my mind raced back to the first time I saw Elvis there in 1960, after he came home from the army. That was also where I last saw Elvis--on July 5, 1976, after returned from the concert at the Mid-South Coliseum.

As we stepped into the dining room, the hostess began to tell our group how Elvis would share meals there with his family and friends. Jack Soden nudged me and suggested that I add a personal reminiscence. I mentioned how Elvis loved the holiday season and how we used to decorate the white Christmas tree every year. Once, Priscilla told Elvis to hang the tinsel on the tree, and he asked some of the guys to help. Priscilla specifically ordered us to put the tinsel on one strand at a time, but after a few painstaking minutes of that, Elvis got tired of it and just started heaving gobs at a time on the branches. After Priscilla ordered us to put down the tinsel and leave the decorating to her, Elvis gave us a huge grin and said, "Guess I got us out of that, huh guys?"

Each room at Graceland held great memories for of the years I spent there with Elvis. When it came time to go outside and visit the grave site I told Jeff that I would skip that part of the tour and meet him at the raquetball court behind the house.

I didn't go back again until fifteen years later. My friends Russe Howe, Bud Glass, Tom Salva, Tom Beattie and I were in one of the museums across from Graceland that displayed one of Elvis's old cars. It was the eve of the twentieth anniversary of his death, and there was a constant line to and from the grave site to pay tribute to Elvis.

"Come on, guys, I'm gonna try and go up there," I told them. When I got there the crowd was to and three people deep. When I stopped and turned to look, I saw Elvis's grave. It overwhelmed me, and I turned to my friends and said, "I've got to get out of here," and I headed back to the street.

Just then, a woman stopped and asked if I was Sonny West. I said I was, bracing myself because of Elvis's fans were still upset about the book Red, Dave, and I had written two decades ago.

"I just want to thank you so much," said the woman, "because I really feel that we had Elvis as long as we did because of you and Red." She was crying, and my eyes welled up with tears, as did the eyes of my friends. She then hugged me, and I broke down and cried.

A lot of the anger at us has dissipated over the years as people have come to accept the truth of what we wrote in "Elvis: What Happened?" Sure, some still view us as moder-day Judases, but the majority of fans have come around."

He goes on further to say:

"Do I have any regrets about writing "Elvis: What Happened?" A couple. I mostly regret that we didn't accomplish what we set out to do, which was to help Elvis get his life straightened out. And I regret that we weren't able to have a writer with the sensitivity and compassion to convey the Elvis Presley that we knew and loved."

God Tony, just reading your post has me in tears, I really feel his pain.......how can anyone not see that this man loved Elvis? :'(

That's what befuddles me, Kelly. Sonny truly did love Elvis and he and Red and Dave did what they in their minds thought was "right" at the time...but unfortunately, it proved otherwise. Here , Sonny recounts his thoughts about the morning of August 17, 1977 when he had found out that Elvis had died:

"The morning of August 16, was one of the first interviews I ever gave about the book and it was with Bob Greene, a well-known columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times. When Greene and I talked over the telephone about the revelations in our book on August 16, he asked, 'So it wouldn't shock you if one day you opened the newspaper and found out Elvis suddenly died?'

'No, it would not,' I replied straightforwardly, but not without a pang of despair at that prospect. Neither of us knew it at the time but Elvis was already dead, and his demise would make headlines around the world.

After that interview, Judy and I took our Arabian mare to see if she was ready for breeding with a beautiful Arabian stallion named Asdar, owned by a good friend of ours, Dr. Harvey Cohen. It was not a typical California day. The sky was drearily overcast, and a light rain was falling that had not been in the prior evenin'gs weather forecast. There were 0.19 inches of rain that day, which still stands as the record amount for an August 16 since records have been kept.

The next day, August 17, the whole world was mourning the loss of Elvis. The rainfall for that day was 2.06 inches, which also set a record for August 17.

Perhaps even God was weeping over the fact that He had to take one of His favorite sons home.

We were walking toward the barn with the mare when Harvey came out of his house. He looked concerned and walked over to us and said, 'Have you heard'?

I blurted out the first thought that came into my head: 'Elvis died'?

'Yeah,' Harvey confirmed. 'Isnt' that something?'

I let go of the mare's halter rope, dropped to my knees, and began sobbing.

'No! No!' I shouted. 'Oh, God, he doesn't deserve this! He can't be dead!'

Crying too, Judy put her arms around my shoulders and said, 'Oh no! Oh honey, I am so sorry. I know how much you loved him."

When I could stand up again, I walked over to a wooden fence and punched it, cracking the top board. Alarmed, Judy asked if I was all right. I looked at her and wailed, 'Judy, baby, he didn't deserve this! Why? Why?'

The anguish I felt was unlike any pain I had ever experienced. Upset that he had broken the news to me, Harvey told Judy, 'I'm sorry. I wouldn't have said anything if I'd known he'd get this upset.'

I don't remember the ride home but I do recall walking aimlessly from room to room, wondering what to do with myself. The phone rang incessantly. Judy told everyone I was unavailable. Red and Pat came over, and he and I stumbled into each other's arms and cried uncontrollably.

Since then I have lost my brother, who was a gambling addict, to suicide. At the end, he sold or hocked all his personal belongings for money to feed his gambling addiction. That addiction took my brother away from me.

Another addiction, drugs, killed my friend and hero, and they did it in the most humiliating and gut-wrenching way. They robbed Elvis of everything--his family, friends, music, finances, and his future---and it seemed there wasn't a **************** thing I or anyone else could do about it.

That night, I cried myself to sleep. In the years since then, I have wondered when the tears would stop. But they never have."
