View Full Version : Your three Elvis wishes

If you could have three Elvis wishes, what would they be? The only thing you CAN'T wish for is that Elvis were still alive. I think that's a given among all of us fans. Here are mine, not necessarily in this order:
1. A kiss from the king. I don't care if anyone else saw it or believed it when I told them. I would know it and that's what counts.
2. My photo taken with Elvis. Oooh, would I have cherished that.
3. Elvis' autobiography. I get headaches and just plain tired reading everybody else's account of what Elvis did and didn't do. It's been 30 years since Elvis died and even longer since these people experienced life with Elvis. Most of them are getting up there in age and unless they wrote this stuff down in a journal at the time it happened, I have a hard time believing they can remember much of this stuff verbatim. If Elvis had lived and written his life story (or even written one before he died), I'd be happy hearing whatever he had to offer from his own point of view.
Okay, your turn!!

Great thread!
I think my three would be:
-seeing Elvis perform live
-I wish Elvis would have been performing live in the 60s, not that much like he did in the 70s, but I think there would have been some great songs to sing live...
- Sometimes I wish I could ask Elvis some questions just to know the truth about some things...

Great answers here. Not to brag because I don't want people to think I didn't want to see Elvis in concert, but I did see him in concert (4 times) in Las Vegas. At least I accomplished that!
But I have a question for those of you who wished to talk to Elvis. What would you have said to him or asked him? Seriously, if I had the opportunity to actually talk to him, I think I would have been tongue-tied. I honestly don't think I could have brought myself to have a real conversation with him or even ask him a decent question. I'd say something stupid like, "I have ALL of your records". Even if he were alive today and I, in my mid forties, had a chance to talk to him, I think I'd pass out. :notworthy I bow to our man (then I'd pass out!).

lol, so true.
Well, I didn't say that I would talk to him, but the same thing would have probably happened to me If i got the chance to do that  :lmfao:
And it would have been worse if he asked me a question lol....
But, I think I would accomplish to put myself together and just say how much I love his music and everything and that he takes a big part in my life and heart...
I wouldn't ask or talk about private stuff because I wouldn't have the courage to lol.
By the way........nice thread :notworthy :king:

I would say to Elvis that I love you with all my heart, and I think he would already know a lot of what is unsaid.
I have always loved you, the man, the rest is extra, but it is the man I love. Always have, always will, it doesn't matter about anything else, it is the human being, that special soul, whom I recognise, felt a click, had a knowing, and will love him, until I don't breath anymore.

Yes, it was VERY great. I was just a kid (the first 3 times I saw him), but I remember the experience of seeing Elvis live. It was so exciting. I saw him in December 1976 as a teenager. I sat in the balcony for that show. I remember when he sang Hurt, the floor vibrated from him belting out that one note. Oooh. A couple of weeks ago, I took out all of my Elvis goodies I got in Vegas including souvenir menus, etc. you get when you saw Elvis at The Hilton and took a trip down memory lane. Great memories, indeed.

Ahhh my friend Kimmi...you said it all! :'( The "man" is the thing. Not the image. And what a beautiful soul he had...just so good and so "child like" in so many ways. A very rare human being. Not without faults...just like the rest of us....but he more than made up for his faults IMO. I just love him too. A love that can never die....
Sending you hugs...

Well I said that I would like to ask him something sometimes...I don't mean meeting him while he lived and have a talk to him...well I'll try to explain how I mean it...in some cases he is the only one who knew the truth and then I wish I could get an answer from him...:D
I think if I would have ever had the chance to meet him and talk to him...I would probably not know what to say :'( but on the other hand I think that he was a person who you could easily get along with and as he was always polite and nice to his fans...I would have made it somehow:lol:

I agree. It's my problem that I see him larger than life and I'm sure he would have been very easy to talk to and shoot the breeze with. However, because he's ELVIS, uh, well, that's where I'd get all flustered. Ah...oh well. That's the effect the man had on me.
