Nice article....goes to show you Elvis is known worldwide - even though unfortunately he didn't get to perform in other countries as he wanted to.

If Elvis was Titanic ... what was his iceberg??
A strange analogy to be sure.

In my opinion, you are thinking of it the wrong way. As you know, the Titanic was the best ship of it's day.

Which, sadly, sank on its first journey ... all the hype about it was untrue, and it didn't live up to expectations. Hence, I thought it was a strange analogy.
(Apologies if I ruined the ending of the movie if you haven't seen it ... but yeah, that baby sinks! )

Gee you have the same attitude and insult people (in another thread) like someone who used to be here.
The Titanic hit an iceberg; hence it sank, but it was the best ship of it's day. That is the analogy. As I said, you are thinking of things the wrong way, in my opinion, the glass is half full, not half empty, and I'm not interested in verbal gymnastics with you.
This is supposed to be fun here, and nothing else. We are off topic. Have a nice day.

Wow! Didn't you see the "" in my iceberg comment? It was made to be tongue in cheek ...
I said it was a "strange analogy" ... how is that insulting you???
Again, I'm new here, perhaps I'm missing some etiquette, but an insult was not my intention. I read the forum rules and know that this is a moderated forum. Please don't embarrass me publicly if you have an issue, send me a PM.
"You are thinking of it the wrong way" you said. Maybe you are?
Geez ...
Sorry mods if this is off topic, but this was out of the blue ...(n)

Yeah, Clinton was the coolest.
He is a huge Elvis fan. When he was in the White House, he had a giant framed pic of Elvis in the 50s in his den.
In his autobiography (a good read, btw) he talks of his "Elvis" FBI code name, and how he loved in whenever he left the White House, he'd hear the FBI say "Elvis has left the building" over the walkie talkies!
Also, Elvis was his mother's favourite singer. He played Elvis at her funeral.
Wonder what Bush has in his den? Pat Boone maybe?

Bush has some Elvis items also which were given to him by Priscilla and Lisa on his visit to Graceland with Jonichuro Koizumi, the former Prime Minister of Japan.

The "Titanic" wasn't the best ship of its time. It was a disaster waiting to happened. The so called water tight compartments didn't go up all the way so once the ship made an angle the water could flow easily over the top. She also didn't have enough life boats to support all passengers. This is not my idea of a "best ship".

another thing is that last concerts tours Was too much for him do, I been looking at all concerts by year by year, I see that get got so much at 1976 , and 1977, the 1975 was starting point. 1974 is what is coming in furure, 1973 is last stand.
like some one say, how you can save one from his self, I know how that feel liked , I watching my sister killing herself from drinking and there nothing I can do To help her, I try for years this few years I had to care of my self and my Family first.
n ext time one of you say bad things about people was around Elvis, you have to been in their walks. all them love him m ore we do. there few them had't with Elvis long time they ones don't know Real Elvis is. so, I type I feel about things.
