Hello All,
It's almost the 30th Anniversary, and most of us will spend it thinking of Elvis and reliving the moments of his life through pictures, video's, movies, and music. Why don't we post our favorite Elvis memories? It doesn't really matter why the memory came about, all that matters is the fact that it is important to you. Memories mean different things to different people, and all that really matters is that Elvis IS remembered by those who still love him.

Hope this hasn't been done before...

One of my favorite elvis memories was when i went to Graceland last year. I had been there as a little kid but i wasnt an Elvis fan then so it didnt mean as much. When I got to Graceland and went on a tour of his home i was just so happy and excited. That was probably the best place i have ever been in my life i mean that place (memphis) is like Disneyland to me! lol....i just loved it so much and am happy i get to go back in September!

This is a lovely idea.

My "Elvis Memory" is from when I was little, when I first noticed Elvis, and when he first affected me, with his personality, shining through.

Elvis was singing "Return to Sender". I was very little, and would sing that song, while collecting the mail.

Elvis just affected me, even though I was so little. His humour, his voice, his eyes, mannerisms. How he is obviously a gentleman, which was shining through as well, and has always been important to me. The whole thing.

That was my moment, still affects me.

The other one was Elvis singing "Slicin' Sand". As a little girl, lol, I thought that I would have loved to have gone to the beach, sung and danced with him, lol. Just having fun! (With Elvis! {no other girls, hehe}:hug:)

Mine was, when i went to Memphis in 2005, i had No interest in him. As i looked around his house amazed, i couldn't believe that i was in the King's home. It still didn't click. Then as we walked toward the meditation garden, they played 'If I Can Dream' And well...I tried to rewind the song because i loved it. Then that night i remember saying to my dad.."I can't believe i have been in Elvis' house"..:king:

I guess that was when I was 13, wearing a red Jailhouse Rock sweater, 200 pound of wax in my hair, thinking I was Elvis.:king:

I did get over this when I turned 14...

Ahhh...but you know what they say about flattery...:)
