OK, Bob Sillerman is planning on spending $250 million on the new expansion plans for Graceland over the next 5 years. We already know that a boutique convention hotel, a new visitor's center, and new attractions are part of the plans. The hotel itself will probably cost around $100 million. So that leaves $150 million on the new attractions coming to Graceland. But what are YOU hoping to see new and added to the expansion? What is your "dream list"? Here is mine.
A state of the art museum & Visitor's Center as the new main attraction
Among the museum exhibits:
*An Elvis & Ali exhibit (since FXS owns both icons now)
*Elvis & Nixon exhibit
*Spiritual side of Elvis
*Elvis-The Athlete (an Exhibit of the sports side of EP)
*Influences
*Singers & Songwriters exhibit (including costumes from the band members)
*An optical illusion replica model of the upstairs at Graceland walk through
*An optical illusion replica model of the studios (Nashville, LA, and Memphis)
*A wax story exhibit
*An Art gallery of EP themed art from all over the world (including photos never before seen)
*An expanded automobile museum (including new vehicles not on display, tour bus and the planes indoors)
An Imax theater
Featured films:
*Aloha From Hawaii
*68 Comeback
*That's The Way It Is
*Elvis On Tour
*Viva Las Vegas
*Special Presentations
An EP themed restaurant (like the old EP-Memphis)
A 30 foot statue of EP with a water fountain surrounding it as a memorial (this would be located in front of the museum and visitor's center)
To me this would be the ultimate EP experience as FXS wants the new changes to be. I think these improvements and additions would definitely be popular attractions to new and old fans alike and would boost the yearly crowd from 600,000 to 1.2 million or more per year as they are expecting from the new changes. Not to mention the income would triple yearly. Museums are the way of the future right now in bringing up tourism and improving local economies around the US. This in my opinion would be the ideal way to go.(y)
So what are your ideas and visions for the future of Graceland?:)
