We had a similar thread about this topic a while back. I was 10 years old when I first heard him sing That's All Right Mama on the radio . His voice caught my attention right away and not too long afterwards I saw I picture of him in the weekend edition of our local newspaper and I was hooked.:D

I was little, young enough for it to be a bit fuzzy for me, thinking back to when specifically, lol, six or so. He was the first. I dreamt of meeting him then, it started then. Elvis the man took my eye as a little girl, his eyes, his facial expressions, his laughter, his seriousness, which affected me the most in my heart, a recognition, his persona. I was fascinated, and being a little girl, it was all instinct, as I was too little to know about anything else, just the man. I would always look for his facial features in others, his disposition, old fashioned upbringing, life experiences, always liked men like that, somewhat rare to find them (yep temper and all, lol). He is my type, the whole package of "raw Elvis".
I haven't changed. Elvis' incredible talent, that is an extra, but it was always "just Elvis" for me, still is. :'(
 for him, millions

My Mom took me to the drive in (anyone remember those) to see Kelly's Heroes (a Clint Eastwood Movie). On Tour was the second movie on that night. When I saw him with his cape, looking like nothing I had ever seen, I was lost to him forever. I got out the car and stood looking at him with my mouth hanging open. I was 16 then, I'm 49 now and love him more than ever.

I was 8 yrs old when I started to like Elvis...even though I had never seen him...my mum had one single by Elvis "Dont be Cruel" and I remember taking it and putting it on my new record player since I did not have any records of my own.It had no cover and I played it till the groove wore out  and what a surprise when I got to see what Elvis looked like......that was it I was smitten by the voice and his looks :hug:sadly he passed away when I was 10yrs old and I thought my world had fallen apart..I am so pleased I got to go to Graceland for the first time last year and I finally got a chance to say my heart felt goodbye to my king Elvis :'(....

ELVIS had caught my eye when I was nine years old. My family was at a friend's home for pizza dinner on June 5, 1956. They had the Milton Berle Show on their black and white television set....and Uncle Miltie's guest that night was ELVIS PRESLEY who sang "Hound Dog" and "I Want You, I Need You, I Love You".
As the adults sat in bewilderment and laughing at the strange entertainer :king:...I was mesmerized. It was a tasty night. My first night ever to see ELVIS....or to taste pizza. :D..Of the two....I found ELVIS to be the yummiest. :P Though ELVIS caught my eye on television...ELVIS truly stole my heart when my grandmother took me on the bus to downtown San Diego later in 1956 to see "Love Me Tender" on the big screen. I stayed a fan through all the years of growing up. I was the odd man out in high school in the mid sixties as my friends had gone on to be Beatles fans...but my loyalty was with ELVIS...forever....and always. :notworthy:notworthy:notworthy
...and, oh yes, he was my first love, too. :)

I was 5 when I walked into the room where my mother was watching "Loving You" on television (that was 1964). My record collection began that same year. I feel very fortunate to have seen Elvis perform live three times. Twice in 1970 and once in 1971.

I was Eleven Years Old when I was first introduced to Mr. Presley, watched him in the TTWII SE video tape my Grandpa had recorded for my Grandma, and a year after it aired, it was sometime in 2001 I watched it and just became a Elvis fan for life, I now am 18 and each year its going stronger and stronger, my love and admiration for his work that is!!

Well, it depends on what you define as 'Fan.' I was first introduced to Elvis in the summer of 2001 when my mom began dating a man who is now my step-dad. At the time, I hated Elvis (yes, I just wrote "hated" and "Elvis" in the same sentence, please don't kill me) just because he liked him. However, the next year, Lilo And Stitch came out and featured several Elvis songs. After that, I'd listen every now and then but the interest faded away. However, during the summer of 06, I decided to pull out a CD nd listen again. I started to wonder how everyone always said the way he moved his hips was amazing, yet I had no idea what they meant, so I picked up Elvis: The Great Performances and TTWII, and watched both. I instantly became a fan of the 50s Elvis and remained so for about a year, until I hear "An American Trilogy," and its been 70s ever since. In the spring of 07, my grandma and I made my first jumpsuit, which I wore when I was interviewed by a local newspaper for the 30th anniversary of Elvis' death. I've now annoyed my step-dad to the point where he cringes just by hearing 'Elvis,' and he skips over everytime he comes on through his shuffle. Ironic, he was the one who first introduced Elvis to me. lol I'm 15 now, by the way.

He probably regrets it constantly. Now I have 468 songs on my iPod (pure Elvis (okay, well the stamps sing a few, but Elvis is onstage when they do). It'll be more as soon as I get my power cord for my laptop, as I have to put on my 4 FTDs. I agree, its awesome to have young members. My grandma and I are working on a jumpsuit right now that's modeled after the blue nail. I'll post some pix. on my profile when its done.

U know I never asked her the date, but she said she waited in line all night long to get tickets. She was pissed because she was far back, but she did say that a woman jumped onstage but his body guards were all over her like white on rice. She tried to take pics of him but the guards wouldn't let her. She has several things from the concert. A flag, a button, a couple posters, some books, and an E hat. I am so jealous of her:mad:
It blew my mind when she told me he was dead..I was so young I just figured he was still around....THEN she showed me the pic of him in his coffin and I remember crying. I had just lost my grandma so I understood what death meant. I guess it never crossed her mind to tell me he had died when she got me hooked:'(
