View Full Version : Elvis On Imax?
Just imagine seeing EP in Aloha From Hawaii on an IMAX screen in all its glory with 5.1 surround sound. This could be coming soon to Graceland as part of their new expansion plans.(y)

I read this as "Blue Hawaii" for a split second, I'd love to watch that as well! lol
That would be fabulous, Elvis' work, his concerts, movies, at the Imax Theatre!

sounds great you would see and hear elvis it his pure powerfull best hope they get it soon
I would love to see That's The Way It Is Special Edition and Elvis On Tour Special Edition (whenever it sees the light of day) in IMAX form. Unfortunately the 68 Comeback wouldn't work too well due to the audio being recorded in Mono sound and would be too high pitched with no base line and that would hurt the ears. Unless they spent the money to re-record the audio tracks with modern day backings and base but then the feedback would be rough with EP's voice buried in the mix. Think A Little Less Conversation Remix. But the live stereo concert films would work. Also EP films like a remastered Viva Las Vegas in 5.1 sound on IMAX would be very popular even to the casual fans.

base line ? oh, you mean "Bass line" !?!?
And just what are your credentials in sonic fidelity or recorded sound ?
For your information, I saw the 68 Comeback at an Imax theater in North Carolina back in 2004, (along with 500 other anxious fans), the week before the outstanding 3 DVD box set was released and it looked and sounded absolutely sensational !!!
When you post opinions that are based soley on incorrect, erroneous assumtion/s, you should acknowledge this and state it as being so.
By the way, do even own the 3 DVD box set issued in 2004 ?
And be honest now ...

I would be really glad... Imagine such a handsome man in such a big screen!
I know that EPE has been approached by fanclub presidents about adding an IMAX Theater in the past. But according to Morgan and staff it wouldn't work (or in their case would be too much money to invest to better the experience as they are too cheap). But he has said that they have wanted to build a new theater to replace the current one for displaying their special presentations. With FXS in charge of things now, I see him wanting to go bigger and an IMAX theater would be an ideal new attraction to bring in younger and newer fans. IMAX theaters are very popular now and becoming a big fad for bigger cities. Some cities are building state of the art theaters of multiple screens to attracted visitors to their downtowns. Almost every major museum and attraction has one. Grasceland is an exception as like I said they are too cheap to invest. Thank God Bob Sillerman isn't.(y) We have one here at the Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville. Here's a few pictures of what an IMAX theater exterior looks like. As you can see they come in all different shapes and sizes.

But screen size of Aloha from Hawaii Recorded 4:3 standart TV size it's not recorded wide screen like TTWII, EOT or movies...
Aloha would work on IMAX as it can be re-tramsformed to fit any sized screen such as a home wide screen system.
I came up with another idea for the theater. They (EPE) could have a daily running of a new documentary made for the visitors only that highlights EP's career using modern day technology to make it stand out. It should be about 60 minutes long and would be among the special projects that could be used for the IMax Theater. Here would be an idea of shows running at the new EP Theater.
All Shows run daily Monday-Sunday 8:am to 9pm.
Elvis By The Presley's
Elvis On tour
Viva Las Vegas

Australia has the largest and second-largest IMAX cinema screens in the world (Sydney and Melbourne respectively) so I for one would welcome the idea! (y)
