Just wondering if any of you are going to Memphis for the 30th Anniversary with Arena Travel.
This will be my second time going with them and I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm thinking of going in Jan for the birthday celebrations with Arena, never been before.
Are Arena good to travel with? I may be travelling alone how do you think that would affect the experience?

I may be biased, but the best company to tour Memphis, Tupelo, Nashville & Vegas (all in one holiday) is Archers Direct. Three tours visit Graceland but this is the Elvis dominated one:

Elvis & the Southern Sounds - 8 DAY ESCORTED TOURING HOLIDAY

DAY 1: UK - Memphis
Fly to Memphis where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for a three night stay.

DAY 2: Memphis
Included guided city sightseeing, Rock 'n' Soul Museum and tour of Graceland.
During your city sightseeing you will get a unique, behind the scenes perspective from your expert guide. Then it's on to the Rock 'n' Soul Museum, which traces Memphis' cultural and musical past. This afternoon is dedicated to a guided visit of Graceland. You'll also be able to board The King's private jet.

DAY 3: Memphis (included visits to Sun Studio and Tupelo)
This morning we journey to Tupelo, to visit Elvis' birthplace and museum. Then it's back to Memphis for a visit to Sun Studio, probably the most famous recording studio in the world, where Rock 'n' Roll was first recorded. You will be able to hear the outtakes from sessions, touch Elvis' first microphone, see memorabilia and re-live the history of the studio that launched the careers of Johnny Cash, BB King, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and many other music legends.

DAY 4: Memphis - Nashville (included Grand Ole Opry)
Today we head east to Nashville, 'Music City USA'. Tonight you have reserved seats for an unforgettable show at the world-famous Grand Ole Opry.

DAY 5: Nashville (included city sightseeing tour)
Nashville is the ideal destination for all kinds of visitors: music fans, history buffs and southern lovers. Start your day with a sightseeing tour of the city, passing by famous recording studios of Music Row, the centre of the recording industry, which first developed in the 1950's. Get 'behind-the-scenes' of the music industry by visiting the very popular Country Music Hall of Fame with its glittering costumes, rare instruments, and Elvis Presley's 'Solid Gold' Cadillac. Afterwards visit Studio B, Nashville's oldest surviving recording studio, and one of the most important studios in the USA. Between 1957-1977 there were more than 35,00 songs recorded here including 262 Elvis Presley recordings. Studio B is a must see for any music fan, but especially those who love Elvis. You will even have the chance to make your own recording and take it home with you.

DAY 6: Nashville
Today is at leisure to explore more of this vibrant city. Visit the historic Ryman Auditorium, restored home of the Grand Ole Opry from 1943-1974. Perhaps take a relaxing cruise on the General Jackson paddle-wheeler riverboat as it travels down the majestic Cumberland River, or visit the Hermitage, home of Andrew Jackson, seventh President of the United States. Tonight join our optional evening out to see 'A Tribute to the King', a high-energy show that highlights six eras of Elvis' career.

DAY 7: Nashville - UK
Transfer to Nashville airport for your overnight flight to the UK.

DAY 8: Home landing in the UK.

OR extend your holiday with 3 extra nights in LAS VEGAS at Stratosphere Hotel

I went last year with Arena and I found them very good. Unlike a lot of other tour companies, someone from Arena will meet you at Gatwick airport and be there all the way with you. I had no problems with Arena at all. They were very helpful.

About travelling alone - a few people from our group travelled alone but they quickly made friends with other Elvis fans on the tour.
If you need to know anything else, let me know.

Are you going for Elvis week and if so what tour are you going on. I'm going on Tour A. I'm going to Tupelo for 4 days and 7 days in Memphis.
Did you ever stay at the Comfort Inn in Memphis. This is where I'm staying this year. I've heard good things about this hotel. Last year I was lucky enough to get the Heartbreak Hotel but I wasn't so lucky this year.

Kevis, I would double check about Heathrow, but maybe this is just because there are so many going this year and some will have to fly out from Heathrow.
I'm getting an extra day in Tupelo for free because of the way the flights are.
I'm really looking forward to going this year but I do have to say that last year was just fantastic as it was my first time to Graceland and I'll never forget it.
