Anybody own this DVD, or seen it?

I was surprised to come across it in a store the other day. I had read about it, but didn't expect to see it in a big-chain bookstore. I'll probably go back and get it, but I thought I'd ask if any of you have found it to be a worthy purchase or not.

Also, BTW, I was thrilled to see an FTD CD at my favorite local independent record store a couple days ago. Over the last few years, I've seen an occasional import there and I picked up a promo CD of the Vegas box set there for a very low price, but this was the first FTD I've seen there. It was Fame And Fortune, BTW.

Oh yeah, I do know of one other local guy who carries some FTD's. (He's got a lot of imports too--homemade CDR's, if you can believe that! :nono: ;) ) He happens to know Bob Heis, the Elvis photographer, pretty well, and supposedly took a lot of of close-up Elvis photos himself which I don't think have been published...I think I need to pay him a visit some time soon and ask about those!

I just watched this and, in my opinion, is one of the better newer doc. about Elvis. It's very positive and all about his generosity towards others. Great interview footage with Linda Thompson, Sonny West and Jerry Schilling as well as others. I liked it alot, I'll have to buy it now.

Another one I just watched was "REmembering Elvis" . Started out interesting but got repetitive and just mostly rehashed everything we've seen before.

Never heard anyone say it sucks before. I think this was a really good doc. Showed some imagination rather than rehashing the same tired format. Some good stories, nicely told.

i could think of 200 other ideas that would have made a more interesting documentary on E.P., THE photos could have bin used for one about the fans who wree THE UNOFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHERS AND HOW THEY FILMED e.p. AT HIS CONCERTS, AND THE STORIES THAT THEY HAD TO TELL, ENOUGH OF THE flunkies AND THEIR STORIES, IT REALLY WAS USELESS.i'm only interested in THE MAN & HIS MUSIC, I see that you are the fans who collect the plates , diapers etc that GRACELAND [put out].

There's a place for this type of documentary, alongside those that are more specifically about his music. You don't have to be a fan who collects all the branded EPE junk to appreciate stories about Elvis' generosity. You say you are interested in the Man and his Music. His legendary generosity was very much part of the man.
