Ok, this happenned to me about a week ago. I have two HDD's installed on my PC. One of them is a Western Digital and the other a Maxtor. Well, as i had to leave home, i turned off my PC, and the second HDD was working properly, no problem about it. I returned home, and i had to format and install a new copy of windows on the Western Digital, because it wasn't working properly and i didn't format it for over a year.

Well, i finished my job and the second HDD, the Maxtor, was still working. Suddenly i received a message in the lower right corner, a pop-up about some error on the PC, and i decided i should restart it. I restarted it and whop... there goes the Maxtor. It just won't start again. I tried to move it from one slot to another and etc etc, but still, it just won't start. Does anyone have any idea about what i could do ?

I'm really curious if he did manage to fix it...

he had a problem with the cd-rom player. When he disconnected that one, the harddisk gave no problems anymore... weird

Unfortunately that didn't work for me... :(.. a friend of mine said that it might be blocked... and thus impossible to repair (or so he thinks)
