It's a shame there is not pro footage of the whole show, Elvis looks fantastic in this show, even better than "Elvis On Tour" what a difference a tour can make??

I found this at the Web site "Elvis at the Garden"
ABC filmed a snatch for the TV news that night ( June 9th 8:30pm). A snatch in this context means till the end of Polk Salad Annie. This is the official version, some people say that 45min of pro. Footage do exist. But this footage never appeared completely on VCD or VHS. The ABC footage remains to be the only pro. footage taken at the garden.

this has nothing to see withe ABC news
i post this footage and story here fews months ago

according to Jonas Mekas he film withe his 16mm camera around 40 minutes of this show
he obtain the permit to film directly by the colonel Parker
and send to him a copy of the 16mm footage,if the footage is now in EPE hands is the question,i aske 2 years ago to EPE but don t have appopriate reply
Jonas Mekas is psykadelik (hope it s the good word in english) movie director
he do many short footage in experimental style
the clip posted from MSG is a special trailer do for a viennal festival in Austria fews years ago

The clip was from You Tube not the Elvis at the Garden site, but the info about the ABC footage was. They based it on info from ABC.
I only went by what the site said, but I do recall in the mid nineties on a 20/20 tv show on ABC they used snippets of this footage during a segment on Elvis. So if its not theirs they were using it without permission. Or perhaps they did record to a certain point -which is evidently the story ABC gives on the footage. It really does not matter to me whos it is just that it exists.

Does Mr. Mekas film have sound? (other than Mozart) If he has 40 minutes is there a legal situation which keeps him from producing DVDS and selling it? He says the Col. gave him a written permit to film, if so, he should have legal ground to market it. It would seem this is valuble so why does he just hold it? I can not imagine the Col. giving permission without some ownership or percentage of the film itself-he marketed any and everything with Elvis's name or likeness involved. Mr. Mekas seems to be an artistic filmmaker i gather from visiting his site-the Col. never seemed interested in artistic projects only ones which make money. So this idea he gave permission is a mystery? I would sure like to see it produced (with original sound) and released regardless of his claims of how and why.
