I like Elvis because of his music and his voice. He brought songs alive by singing them with his heart and soul. He also was a very special kind of man.

Good question Danielle(y)
Well first of all, the music, i must say.
The first Elvis song I heard was Suspicious Minds and was actually blown away with his AMAZING voice...maaaaaany other songs came after and he keeps amazing me all the time:D
He looked fantastic,he was so handsome.....
And, he had a wonderful personalty, that's a big plus.
He was so different from the other celebrities, he never forgot who he was before he got famous :D
I love Elvis-The Man and Elvis-The Rock star, both  :D
I can not explain it. Charisma is the only word that comes close to giving definition to this question -30 years after he has been gone.

His good looks attracted me first - I was about 9, but even at 9 I knew a good looking man when I saw one
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYwF8LcupiQ One of the many examples of his magnificent voice. Music is a memory enhancer. Music has a way of taking me to a specific point in my life & Elvis' music (& especially this song) has created a great many of those moments for me.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CAudY_pAjw His sense of humor is spectacular. He's just so funny. His shows must have been one huge source of entertainment with his humor, singing, performing & story telling. I could go on & on & . . .

I grew up with his music constantly in the house, so It's like going home in a way. As I grew, it was the way he could turn any song around and really feel it and make it his own. Make you feel it too. I've heard some pretty humdrum songs from the originals , and then Elvis does a version and it suddenly has depth.

I was about 5 years old the first time I heard him sing and I loved him. Didnt know what he looked like for some time. Of course he was beautiful to me. I listen to him any time and he makes me feel so good and makes everything ok no matter whats going on in my life. When I was a child I was so afraid of the dark, not just the dark, but the sounds in the darkness that I heard, if anyone else ever went through that you know what Im talking about, so I had to have a small light on and Elvis played on my little stereo with one speaker, but my whole family had to listen to it cause it was a small house, and if I didnt fall asleep before the album finished we listened to it again. This went on for years.

ELVIS touched my heart when I was just a little girl of nine years old.
They say that your first love is the one you remember ALWAYS...ELVIS was my first love. My tender feelings for ELVIS have always felt most magical....very special, gentle, and loving emotions that will never leave me until I leave this earth.
My heart shattered when he died. I laid in bed and cried for weeks. Tears still stream down my face, now and then, when I think about the loss. Sometimes when I hear him laughing like in the "Are You Lonesome Tonight" laughing rendition....I will smile the biggest smile and laugh with him, too. His laughter was contagious just like love for him was. ELVIS had a way of touching people emotionally...more than anyone else I have ever ever known.
**** I miss him!!! It is hard to explain all the reasons why. How do you explain something so spiritual in nature? :hmm:

It can be too simply....but I like him for EVERYTHING!!
His look, voice, personality, charisma, energy and so on :D
I think he was incredible as an artist and especially as a man....he's the only one who gives me a lot of different emotions and he will always be the best for me! (y)

Ale, couldn't have said it any better:clap:
What was there "not to like" about him huh.
He was the most beautiful, gifted and talented man I've ever seen.
I was 10 years when I fell in love with him, first his voice then I saw him on a picture and I was in awe over his beauty:blush: . In love immediately....
He became one of the most important persons in my life, wanted to know everything about him, became fascinatd with his lifestory and with the lucky one who became his wife.
I started collecting every possible candid picture of him with his family and it was like all his songs together revealed his life and feelings.
The songs I liked the most were changing a bit depending my own age. Became a fan in 1977 , was only ten and it never stopped. I became an adult, I fell in love myself and had two kids but he still was in my hearth forever and will always be.
It is funny when I was a child I mostly liked his 50's songs. When I was a twen and young adult I was very much into his 60's songs. Now I'm 41 and I just love his seventies songs. I sometimes cannot imagine he was not much older then I am now when he died. It is like it was yesterday:doh:
Life goes so fast...
when I first became a fan he looked so mature and grown up to me and now I'm nearly as old as when he passed away and he still looks so mature to me and I still am in love with him. I sometimes wonder, when life will progress and I will be an old lady will I still see him trough the same eyes or am I going to stop being in love with him because he is just "a kid"  and far to young for me:lol:
My favourite pic, hard to post because hundreds of them are my favourite ones. Here the same evolution right now I absolutely adore his beauty of the early seventies, late sixties. When I was younger was not intrested in his seventies looks but in his 50's.

LOL...:) I am 60 now...ELVIS was 42 and I was 30 when he passed. He will be forever young....but in my mind so am I ;) ....
I doubt you will ever stop being in love with ELVIS if you have been loyal and loved him this long. ;)

Thank you for asking! It is a really nice question!(y)
There are so many reasons:hmm: ...
Here are some of them:
1. When I need Him He is always here to support me with His music!:king:
2. His Voice!:king:
3. His eyes!:king:
4. His complicated personality!:king:
5. I always feel that He cares and sings only for me( even thou I surely know that He is not ):king: .....................
I must admit I don't know the only one answer.... and I agree with Paulo Coelho: " If you don't know for what exactly you love the person- it means you really love it"

I agree with everyone's answers to this one. Why do I love Elvis? wow, where do I begin. Of course, there's the good looks throughout his life. Adorable child, cute teenager, handsome man. There's a gallery full of that proof right here on this site!
There's that incredible voice. I go to sleep listening to that voice, & my alarm - set to go off to whatever Elvis Cd is inserted, wakes me up to his singing.
He was gracious, gifted, innovative,. . . the list is endless! What a wonderful thread!

I always feel that He cares and sings only for me
I find that one of the most MAGICAL things about ELVIS...he had a way of making you feel so special and that his love... and music... was only for YOU...even in an audience of thousands he had a way of looking out at the audience and catching your eyes and making you feel his heart, soul, and song....was for you alone. Ask hundreds who saw him in person...this was a special ability...a MAGIC that he had!!! How in the heck did he do that??? ONLY ELVIS COULD :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy
* Something in the way HE moves
Attracts me like no other lover
Something in the way HE woos me :hmm:

All the answers are wonderful and I feel the same way about elvis that you do .I love him for his personslity, his devine voice and songs, his handsome ,adorable face, his kindness and etc..... but something beyond all of this , that i don,t know what I should call that causes me to love him, something within me , something nameless and strange says , loving elvis is born with me , some inner instinct. He is with me where ever I go and whar ever I do.I don,t know if I,m clear enough or no!

This can be exceedingly hard to quantify and also the easiest thing in the world!
He had a unique voice capable of doing amazing things.
He had looks and style second to none.
He was generous to a fault.
He was God fearing.
He was funky.
He was weird.
He dared to rock.
He was Iconic, a legend
BUT...... it's more than that isn't it?

He makes me closer to God. I think , what would Elvis do, you know.? There is no word to describe how and why we all are so consumed with everything about him. I think it would be kind of scary in a way to have so many people loveing me this much if I were him.

this is a good question my answer is simple really, for me elvis broke the boundrys of music at a time when being coloured was frowned upon none of the so called bands today seem to understand that it was he who paved the way for them the criticism he took would have ruined many but he was a star in every way, he was polite he was caring he helped many people thats why when he died he didnt have much money left he didnt see that he needed it i think he was a great role model no matter what people say about him and i really do believe he changed the course of music history and all this from just a singer thats all he was a singer and to do all that he was truly a special human being and of course my answer to anyone who tries to bad mouth him is quite simply he has sold more records than any other human being ever so he must of had something, i think he is one person that will never be forgotten.

Interesting way to look at it. :hmm:
ELVIS' tender human side and giving heart did seem lovingly spiritual. He looked like a Greek-God. Had a mischevious twinkle in his eyes, and smile that could light a room, (and did.) :D A laugh that was contagious to those anywhere in proximity. :D
