Where Did They Go Lord Lyrics
Elvis Presley
(Words & music by Frazier - Owens)

The words of her promise
The flame of her faith
The love that would never drift away
Where did they go Lord, where did they go?

You know somehow forever
Slipped out of my hands
And my dreams ran away with the wind
Where did they go Lord, where did they go

You know sometimes I wish
I had lost her to another
Well but Lord she just walked off all alone
But all that is within me is the bitter just ending
And bewildered because her love is gone

Oh the passion I trusted
The truth that I leaned on
And the hope that would forever keep me strong
I cry out my questions
Oh, the answers are all gone
Where did they go Lord, tell me where did they go
Where did they go Lord, tell me where did they go

I don't have an exact favorite. There are just to many that touch so deeply.
The first one that let Elvis steal my heart forever....was

"Love Me Tender"

I was nine years old. Almost six decades ago.
I wanted that man in my life forever.
It has been my longest love affair. :D

It is very hard to choose One, But My way, Elvis did everything his way, and when he sings "My Way" it get goosebumps

My Way

And now the end is near
So I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case of which I'm certain

I've lived a life that's full
I've traveled each and every highway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way

Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exception

I planned each charted course
Each careful step along the byway
Oh, and more, much more than this
I did it my way

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you know
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall
And did it my way

I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fails, my share of losing
And now as tears subside
I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way
Oh, no, no not me
I did it my way

For what is a man, what has he got
If not himself, then he has not
To say the words he truly feels
And not the words he would reveal
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way

Like everyone; there are just too many of his songs I liked.
I will always identify Elvis to My Way.
I can say, I loved his voice & his songs as he grew older .It seemed he sang them from deep within his soul. But, I discovered one only a few years ago that I'd never heard ....& it's stuck.

How the Web Was Woven Lyrics
Artist(Band):Elvis Presley

(words & music by Westlake - Most)

How the web was woven
In my soul, don't you know
How the web was woven
Can't get loose, can't let go
Like the weave of a spider
Wound around my heart
I'm no longer free
At last I'm where you want me
Don't you know, that's where I want to be?

Spinning 'round like a blue fly
Thoughts of you fill my head
And no matter, oh how I try
I can't sleep in my bed

I've been round for the last time
Oh, girl, what can I do?
Oh the time the web was woven,
How I fell in love, fell in love with you

You're right, it is hard to pick just one, but my all time favourite is Just Pretend. I first heard it when I really got into Elvis 17 years ago and TTWII was the first video (remember those  ) of his that I bought. It's got alot of personal meaning now, every time I hear it, it makes me smile :D
