What if EP had gone back to Hollywood for one powerful action packed Crime drama film in 1973 opposite Clint Eastwood and 70's blaxploitation star Pam Grier? EP loved those Superfly drug type gang movies back then. So I have created a storyline of what I think would have been the ideal movie for EP in the 70's.

STREETS OF SOUTH CENTRAL
Rated R for violence, strong language, nudity, and sexual situations
Characters:
Punch McCoy-Elvis Presley
Forrest Anderson-Clint Eastwood
Tracy Cullam-Pam Grier
Mr Roy-Anthony Perkins

L.A. is known as the city of dreams. But in this town dreams don't always come true. Together private investigators Punch McCoy and Forrest Anderson work to find the one behind the drug pushing that is killing the children of the city and along the way become great partners and friends for life. Punch is a slick laid back cool cat and a ladies man. Forrest is a tough rough in your face kick butt stud with a chip on his shoulder. Both men have their share of women in their lives. But Punch isn't looking. His love of his life was killed in a car explosion and he's not gotten over it yet. But one in particular girl at a club catches Punch' eye and helps ease his pain. She is a beautiful tall black woman with a puffed up Afro named Tracy Cullam. After a drink, Tracy and Punch go home together where they make passionate love and wake up together the next morning before Punch has to leave her for work. Punch and Tracy quickly begin a strong romantic relationship that gets in the way of their work. Punch doesn't know the woman he is falling in love with is also connected to the drug lord they are after. But her undeniable love for Punch leads her to turning to the good side and tells both Punch and Forrest that she can help them stop Mr Roy (the drug lord) and save the community from destruction. He's a very wealthy middle aged white man with millions of dollars to his name who is in control of the streets of South Central LA and the drug world.

After a carefully thought out plan, Tracy sets a trap for her boss, Mr Roy and Punch almost gets him but not before Tracy is kidnapped by Mr Roy's goons and Punch can't rescue her in time as she is whisked away in a van. Later, Mr Roy wants Punch and Forrest out of the way so he sets up a trap for Punch. He leaves a message for Punch to come alone to a deserted alley in LA or his girl dies (as Punch here's her screaming for help in the background of the phone).

Punch and Forrest rally together to stop Mr Roy before it's too late and before they kill Tracy. Punch and Forrest try to chase down the van in a long action packed car chase down the freeway but are eventually derailed by a moving train and lose the van. Punch thinks he's now lost Tracy for good. He now thinks he's a curse on beautiful women because of his dangerous profession. But Forrest insist "don't worry partner, we'll find 'em and we'll get that bastard once and for all."

Meanwhile Tracy is used as a sex slave by the villains and drugged up. By the time Punch discovers her almost lifeless body, beaten and raped and is bleeding, he wants to cry. She's too out of it to know what to say, but tells him to leave her but he refuses and carries her to safety. Then Punch and Forrest fight off the entire drug lord's army of men with semi automatic weapons firing at them. Punch and Forrest are outnumbered and short on fire arms but fight their way through the firing and eventually take 'em all down one by one. Punch tells Forrest to get Tracy out of harms way to save her while Punch goes after Mr Roy to settle a personal score alone. While Forrest takes Tracy to protection, Punch goes after Mr Roy. He finally catches up to him and they go at it in a long karate kicking fist fight scene that leads to Mr Roy trying to throw Punch off a building while Forrest looks from down below with a battered Tracy. But instead of Mr Roy throwing Punch, Punch throws Mr Roy off who falls 30 stories to his death.

Punch, all beaten up, arrives to find Tracy drugged up and she is taken to the hospital while Punch stays by her side. Tracy survives and is released in time to see her man and hero rewarded. Punch and Forrest are both rewarded by their police precinct despite going against their captain's orders of and not doing it strictly by the book. Tracy rewards Punch with a sensual passionate kiss as Punch then says "let's go home baby". As they leave together arm in arm and Forrest and the captain look on with smile s of happiness for Punch and Tracy. The End.

I'm not sure if that's the type of Elvis film we all might imagine.;)

I was thinking more on the one he missed : like "A Star is Born "
That was a good movie. However, if he'd been around longer .....who knows ?? He always seemed to like the James Dean; Marlon Brando thing ....
I think he could have done a James Dean type of movie.....IMO. :)

This would have allowed him to have been creative and to do action drama. He never got to do a film like that unfortunately. Knowing that he liked these types of films, I could see him doing one that allowed him to be "free" as this one I created would have and not have to sing in or be squeaky clean as most of his films demanded. I also think Pam Grier and EP would have had incredible chemistry together, a la Ann Margaret and EP.

Well, Kristoferson was hardly squeeky clean in that movie ......even if he did sing. ;)

But, who knows?? You could be right.
Flaming Star didn't do so well though. {no singing}
Maybe we all helped "stick him a box" & expected him to stay there.
He was human & he bleeds.....
I think many of us forget that we all need to grow & expand in our work.
He was no different.

You need to write movie scripts or at the least, a book. :D

I will buy that script and want Presley on it, good job!

EP75, I have always imagined Elvis doing "Dirty Harry".

P.S. Filming must began March '73 while he's still Aloha good looking.

Elvis, Clint and Pam together - what a dream. It would have been great and I agree he would have jumped at such an opportunity.
He needed such a challenge in 74-75

I know this is a little off topic, but don't you think Elvis in charro! looks a little like Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry, with the beard thing they have going on! Although I mean obvisouly Elvis is still more handsome!!!

Great script by the way! I would go to see Elvis in that kind of movie, it would give him a chance to be a serious actor for a change!!! I'm on board!!! :)

Gutsy suggestion, EP75. If Elvis had done a movie like this, if nothing else it would have brought him a level of respect that he craved in Hollywood. And of course it would have required a boot in the @ss of Colonel in order for there ever to have been a sliver of a chance of it happening.

I know Elvis would have been great...Just look at King Creole and Change of Habit. Elvis could act just wasn't met to be. I loved to see Elvis sing live and be in movies in 70s.

Love to all,
