Our guy had some great concert moves, especially when finishing a song, which was your favorite? Was the ending of Suspicious Minds from TTWII, his greatest finishing move, you know, where he looks like he's being electrocuted, then the fist pump followed by the open handed karate pump, thats my all-time favorite!

Hurt from December 31, 1976. Elvis ends the song on his back. I like that.:P :D

I have to agree with Lennon, when Elvis layed on the floor anytime he did reprise of Hurt was a treat. I like the one from Chicago 1977 Hurt too when he rolled on the stage and went all out with Polk Salad Annie.
Love to all,

The ending of Patch It Up, when he's laying on his back, with his knees folded underneath was incredible as well! Both examples from the Hurt endings were awesome also!

is any of those on utube? i never seen them only pics.
Definitely Polk Salad Annie. The way he moves and gyrates is like nothing anyone could do today in muisc without throwing their back out of place. Let's see Justin Timberlake or Beyonce move and dance like that and live to talk about it.

I think what made Elvis so great, was that he wasn't a dancer per say, he did it by feel, thus it looked incredible.

Exactly! What EP did on stage wasn't rehearsed or choreographed as today's artists are. It just came natural with him. And that's what made him special and unique.

 I like this ending, I also like one where he slides across the stage & almost does a sort of cartwheel, but I couldn't find that vid-clip.

I was watching that last night, great stuff! Another favorite of mine is also from the Aloha rehearsal, at the end after Can't Help Falling In Love, he gets on one knee and gets everybody in his group (including the orchestra) to stop on a dime as he extends pumps his hands with his cape, incredible!

i love polk salad annie the moves are like thousands of electrical voltes going through his body each version was slightly different as it wasn't rehearsed each song had special moves to go with it the impersonators have a hard job trying to copy it as it was so spontainious and exausting how he did it i'll never know right into his 40's

This ending for Patch It Up which I saw last month on YouTube. What gets me is its the ONLY Elvis song I don't like but when I saw this ending I was blown away - sheer will and muscle power raising him up!
The original has been removed from YouTube so I've uploaded the ending only, hopefully won't infringe copyright (too much!) because its so short and not the full song.

Thank you all for posting those great videos showing all of Elvis' fantastic moves. What always got me along with those is the hand and head gestures he made to his musicians to make them speed up or slow down and went into his motions along with their music. I don't know of any other musicians that were so ready and so in sync with their performer nor a performer who could direct his band, sing and move on stage all at the same time. He definitely was a master at his craft!

Have to go for the shoulder shaking Suspicious Minds too - but the Patch It Up lying on his back with legs under him is so surprising...it makes me go wow...how did he do that - I can't do that...I tried...ouch!

I was pretty amazed at the Patch it Up ending, but my all time favorite is definitely TTWII Suspicious Minds ending. It gives me chills every single time I see it. I can't adequetly put it into words...it is just beyond reason what he does with that!

I like the karate chop over his head at the end of "Fever" live, with accompanying rimshot from Ronnie Tutt.

I like the Patch it Up ending with him arching backwards on his knees until his back is flat with the floor and then his jumping up to end the song. I have 3 pins in my left knee from a football injury and everytime I watch it I am both amazed and get the shivers holding my knee:) :)

Almost to the end of this mini concert - is Elvis landing on his back! After the end of Polk Salad Annie at 8:43. A bit of an acrobat, he was.

My favorite finishing move is in "Can?t help falling in love" from Aloha from Hawaii when he throws the cape, gets down on one knee and points with his arms up just in tempo. Fantastic.
Elvis had a great sense of timing and showmanship.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, how about the ending of Ready Teddy, with the shoulders coinciding with the drum beats!

But it's a great ending as he rolls over on the final note of Hurt. Great rendition of the song, too, btw! (y)

As for me those ALL moves and are awesome!!!
I think I know the reasons why nobody could do them:blush:
He did it with a magic of his soul, they were the best friends with music, they kinda worked together! Music lived in Elvis and Elvis lived in music. Music touched Him and He began showing what He felt...:king:
Music still has the same friend...
Music will never find anyone brighter...
Music will never give her gift to anyone, but Him and never gave...
Music knows that noone feels her better than Elvis...
What these "stars" can do now? They are training every day, but they would never understand that gifts are gifts. They are from Lord. Nothing that is worth knowing can be taught(Oscar Wilde)

How about at the end of the original TTWII, as the curtain is coming down, his arms outstretched and pounding evenly with the band, eventually he ends up on one knee, with his other leg outstretched as the curtain closes, just in front of him!

I love the way he ended Can't Help Falling In Love in TTWII. He spins and points to the audience, then pumps his fists to the beats, and then falls to his kees in a karate pose with his arms extended. He often ended concerts in this pose, but the way he does it you just know that he has just given you everything he has.

I absolutely love the way Elvis finishes off the great {You're So Square} Baby I Don't Care in the classic 1957 film "Jailhouse Rock" ...
I can't wait to see it in hi def when the performance will be presented in all it's fine glory in the blu ray format in September of this year ...

I agree with regard to Jailhouse Rock's "You're So Square" a great performance! Too many to mention for me, to be honest, fun = enjoyable performance as far as I'm concerned!
