Elvis and John Wayne

Does any one know if Elvis and John Wayne ever met and if they did what did they think of each other.

Elvis liked John Wayne I've read. But have never heard they met. I do remember a special hosted by John Wayne in 79 called "General Electrics All Star Anniversary Special" (GE owned NBC) In the special Elvis was given some nice words by JW during the segment which gave tribute to entertainers who had died since GE was formed and who had been on NBC.
