Can´t say who´s the best, but who´s sound I do like more, I think the April/June '72 Tours (Madison Square Garden line up) was the best sounding.
They sounded so "F" good!

As far as pianists go, I go for Glen D. on stage and David Briggs in the studio. I didn't think Tony Brown or Larry Muhuberac quite hit the mark. In fact, didn't like Larry's playing at all.
Similarly, I liked Scheff onstage, but Gordy or Norbert Putnam in the studio. On drums, Tutt was King, but Jerry Carrigan was awesome in the studio. If I honestly had to pick my favorite EP band, it was probably the band that backed him up during the June 1970 sessions, including Burton on guitar. That was an almost perfect rhythm group for him. My second favorite would have to be the group that backed him up during the 1961 Bloch Arena show - a superstar band consisting of Floyd Cramer, Boots Randolph, Bob Moore, Hank Garland and Elvis' regular sidemen.
The TCB band had the flash that was needed onstage for him though.
