Yeah, I've heard that this is the photo, it came to light a few years ago.

And is Elvis wearing glasses or sunglasses in it??

All this time I thought it was Elvis holding the trophy - never connected it to him winning second prize.:D I enlarged the photo and looks to me like sunglasses. I don't think he ever wore regular glasses as a child.

Triangular glasses? It also could just be some shade coused by the sunlight (comming from above) over his deep eyesockets. Becouse of the high contrast it looks as if his eyes are covered with sunglasses but if you compare his face with the other boys you will see the have it the same, only much lesser becouse their eyesockets are prblably not as deep or becouse their faces are looking a bit more upwards. Also: weren't the glasses a bigger back then? Not as in the 70s but still bigger than the dark spot's you see in the picture.

I think this is the same picture. It is on the Elvis Insiders and says he is age 10 and at the Tupelo Fair. This picture is displayed in the birthplace museum in Tupelo.

My guess would be the boy holding the trophy is young Elvis. It just looks more like him at that age. The middle boy is wearing glasses - you can sort of see a shadow of the stem across the side of his face. But, honestly IMO, it just doesn't look like him. But then it would make sense wasn't Elvis standing on a chair to reach the mike or podium?
Does ElvisInsider say the middle boy is Elvis?

How come this photo took so long to surface?
I read in some books that the young Elvis won 2nd prize. It also said that Elvis had free rides at the fair as part of the prize. A young lady won this competition (if Iam right) can anyone tell me who the lady was that won 1st prize and if she is still with us?

It is Elvis with the glasses and he won fifth prize, not second. The pic will be included in good quality in the forthcoming release "Tupelo's Own Elvis Presley".

Here is a site with the Tupelo Fair answer.
http://www.elvispresley.com.au/elvis/presley/elvis_presley_1935_1954.shtml

Elvis was 10 year old and won 2nd prize and free admission to fair rides.
If I am wrong with this answer then whoever wrote this was wrong, not me.

I was sure Elvis won 2nd prize at this contest.
I was called a liar on this topic on another forum when I said this answer.
On the photo it would be Elvis holding 2nd prize trophy.
