On April 24, 1977 I went and saw Elvis in concert at Crisler Arena in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Been a huge fan since I was a teenager. I had also seen him the prevoius Friday night in Detroit and 6 total times over the years. I'm 52 yo now and have recently battled throat cancer. As I was for many years an Elvis impersonator locally, I do miss singing along with the king. So on April 24. 2007 I got a bit nostalgic and decided that evening to retrace my steps 30 years before. As I drove the 30 minutes to Ann Arbor I listened to the cuts from the show on the "Spring Tours" CD. I arrived and parked next to the arena, got out and walked around the place just to remember how it was at this hour 30 years ago. I was a great feeling and I'm glad I did it. I also got very lucky and walked to the large vehicle entrance where Elvis" limo brought him into the building. A cleaning man was there and allowed me to walk the area which was at the concert time behind the stage, retracing Elvis' own footsteps. I was very pleased and content about it all. Elvis' has provided much joy to me thru the years and I just wanted you all to hear my story concerning my recent little Elvis escapade. Thanks and TCB (y)

Thats a really nice story...And I wish you the best of health MIElvis
First of all I hope youre health problems are all in the past.I can relate to you story.I saw Elvis at Notre Dame University back in 74.I attended many other events at that same venue over the years.Every time I would go there I couldnt help think back to what it was like going to Elvis' show.I cant forget the feelings of anticipation I had way back then.No matter what event I was at later on I always thought the same thing. If only I could be sitting here waiting for Elvis to come out just one more time.Getting a chance to see Elvis in person was a very special thing.

I didn't get to see him at all since I was born after he passed away. I live about 15 miles south of Macon.
I went to the Colisuem and I imagine what it was like. Elvis is the only entertainer in Georgia to have a interstate to shut down. I-16 goes right by the Macon Colisuem. I remember some talking about how it was difficult to get near the colisuem.

What a very cool story MIElvis!!! (y)
Unfortunately, I was only 5 when Elvis passed away, so I didn't get to see him live! But I have been in the building (Rochester War Memorial) where Elvis performed in 1976 and 1977, and I just sat there and tried to imagine what it must have been like to have the lights go down and the "Theme to 2001" begin playing... What a great story (y)
Those who did get the oppurtunity to see Elvis live in concert are very fortunate. What an experience that must have been!!!:supriced:
Unfortunatley I was not born til 1990 13 years after Elvis passed on from this world so I never got the chance to see him..that would have been something out of this world. It must be something going back to those buildings where you once were going in to see Elvis play and now to think its all gone.:'(But still the memories linger on and will never die:notworthy.
