Matt,
Great forum. I really enjoy all the cool pics of the jumpsuits in here...Just a quick note if I may...Not trying to be a jerk, but April 19, 1972. (8:30 pm) Albuquerque, TX. should be April 19, 1972. (8:30 pm) Albuquerque, NM.

Albuquerque is in New Mexico not Texas (I have seen this wrong on alot of Elvis sites on the net) also I believe that April 16, 1972. (8:30 pm) is Jacksonville, Fl......???? but I could be mistaken on that

keep up the great work

The November tour was the first and only one for 1971 as Elvis played only Vegas and Tahoe.

This is equally the first tour where J.D.Sumner and The Stamps Quartet joined Elvis since the Imperials left after the last Vegas gig for problems related to wages.

This was the first time that Elvis was wearing the "White Fireworks" jumpsuit on tour, however it has been worn by Elvis at the August Vegas season.

The belt shown on these photos is the one that was designed for that jumpsuit, yet Elvis used it in 1972 with various jumpsuits such as : The "Blue Nail" (Hampton Rds sequences in Elvis On Tour) and the "Tiffany" jumpsuit during the November 1972 tour ( Honolulu Nov. 18th 1972 evening show).

A black version of that suit was also worn by Elvis during the same tour and also in Las Vegas. (y)

Did they film any concerts when Elvis used this suit in 1972?

Hi everyone,

You?ve probably already seen this pic here on the site. For those of you who don?t know about it, here is some info:

? Photo was taken during pre-show intermission at the Tingley Coliseum, Albuquerque New Mexico, Wednesday April 19 1972, the last stop on the April ?72 tour.
? The little girl was Denise Sanchez, 8, from Santa Fe New Mexico. She was diagnosed with cancer 15 months prior, even though doctors gave her only twelve months to live. She?d lost her right leg and part of her hip to cancer, but then it spread to all of her tiny body.
? Sadly, her father had also died of cancer when Denise was four.
? Denise?s mother, who appears with her in bootleg footage of this meeting, was named Truddl.
? A few days before Elvis? arrival, she became very ill and was listed as critical. But she got up out of her bed to meet Elvis as that was her one dream in life.
? Elvis dedicated You Gave Me A Mountain to her that night.
? The story of Denise and Elvis' meeting ran the following day in the Albuquerque Journal. There was also a very favourable concert review.

I don?t know how long little Denise lasted after that precious meeting, but I can only hope her end was peaceful. What a trooper ...

Anyway, it?s nice to put a name to the face.

Regards from Down Under.

hmmmm, great jumpsuit! among my favourites.

just checked the eppg website - the best jumpsuit site around!, felt the urge to state that :D - and saw some pics of the suit on display in GL. it is shown with the 'gold attendance belt' (obviously, or with a replica of it).

wonder why, since there is an 'original white fireworks belt' and i have not seen any concert shots so far that he wore the attendance belt with that suit on stage.

if i am mistaken, please correct me.

plus does anybody happen to know WHY it is not displayed in GL with the original matching belt (or a replica of it)?

thanks in advance, ellie

Is that Vegas, and if not, where from? ALso, it is 1972, looking at the windscreen.

If you are referring to the picture where Elvis is bending over then it's not Vegas. Elvis wore the "White Fireworks" three times during the April tour of 1972. In this case it's Dayton, Ohio on April 7th. The band is wearing black suits. In Albuquerque the band wore light blue suits.
I still have to find out what they wore in Charlotte.....

This is probably one of the very few sleek looking suits he wore, very subtle design and the ice blue color cape and prothole inserts really when well with him, more then the light blue nail, tiffany, and light blue grass ( wheat suit from NY ) suits. Elvis is the only guy that could where this and still be cool.
