If you had one chance to go back in time to the elvis era what year would you go back to and why? Mine would be 1968 because he was in good physical condition when he did 68 special. and he was happy that the audeinces all over the world loved this show. i dont think he really beleived it himself that the show would be a hit.

1969 to 1971.
After that, he was never quite the same again. I'd also sit through every concert during these two stunning years.
1968 all through the '70's .
I liked him then , no matter what .:)

I would have loved to have been there to see him at his first opening show in Las Vegas in 1969. He seemed happy and full of energy then......Diane

I'd go back to December 1976 and sit in the front row for all his concerts, Vegas and On Tour, and I'd ring a cow-bell and tell him I love him and shake his hand and I'd say "Elvis mate, you're doing so well keep it up buddy - I've noticed" (And then cry and faint into my popcorn)

I'd go back to the 50's cause that's where it all started. Maybe also to the late 70's where it all ended, though it'd have broken my heart. :'(

I would have loved to see him and Priscilla together at the Vegas airport in 1967 just after their wedding. They looked so beautiful together. I never saw a couple that handsome and yes if I could go back in time for once in my life it would have been there seeing those two happy and beautiful people together. Maybe have a little talk to them. I'll bet they were even more beautiful in real life.:D

1, I would like to go back to the very beginning in 1953, the 50's must have been so thrilling....
2, then I would accompany all the events until 1977....
3, watching the private jam sessions would also have been great....

Elton, you are so right what an atmosphere that must have been, that surely must have been a great Saturday..but then all Saturdays in the 50's were great it was a different World, the weekly "Hop" with Elvis spinning on the turntable..my friends it doesn't get much better than that..(y)(y):king::king::D:clap::clap::pepsi::cool ::happy_ny::merryxmas:partytime:respect:

if i could go back in time, i'd choose 56 or 57 when he performed in lubbock. i'd hang around after the show and follow him to whatever diner he'd go to and try to sit at the same table as him or somewhere close by. i'd definetly become an El-fan - gotten in my car with my girlfriends and followed him all over Texas! i know i would've joined the Elvis fan club and gotten the card that he actually signed! i understand gas was pretty cheap in those days :) :) :D
[as you can guess, i got the book Rocking Across Texas for Christmas, thank you Uncle John!]

Awww Liz, I'm so happy we think the same!!!!!!!!! (y) (y) (y) (y) OMG, can you imagine that night, what Elvis and the audience could feel, when he came back after 9 years without live performing? It gives me goosebumps even when I just think about it... What a pity there isn't a time-machine what could bring us back in time...   LOL...

To come back after 9 years of no live performing, and blow the crowd away like that proves just what a natrually gifted entertainer he was. He totally electrified the crowd!! The greatest comeback in entertainment history!!

I'd like to have seen him on Milton Berle or Ed Sullivan - the final performance when he sang Peace in the Valley at the end of the evening. And [like Sara] hang around the stage door - I'd have my good camera and take lots of photos :)
