I am listen to Elvis Gospel on Sirius at the moment, and they played a live version of "HGTA" which i had never heard before. It sounds like an early 70's version as it is close to the album version, Elvis starts and then stops the song laughing about falling, and continues to talk during the first part of the song. It was in excellent sound so i thought it was from an FTD but can't find it. When the Stamps sing their part near the start of the song Elvis says "now you sing" or something like that, to the the audience.

Any idea's anyone?

My Favorite Version Is The Cbs Special 1977 Version.

Mine too! The "God" line at the end is right up there with beginning of "Hurt"

I like the 1974 Memphis version of How Great Thou Art. The audience goes wild because Elvis repeats the chorus.

GOTTA AGREE WITH YOU ON THAT ONE!!! (y)

That version is one of the songs that I always point to whenever someone talks about how Elvis lost his vocal power by 1977!! I always tell them to go back and listen to songs like HOW GREAT THOU ART, MY WAY, and HURT from the CBS Special!!

Good call TCBnAflash!! :D
