I saw this on EIN...click on the link below...
I know sometimes things have to change with the times, but I'm hoping Graceland doesn't change too much...

EPE's continuing real estate aquisitions and Graceland area development plans continues to be in the news.

It really needs some help to the area though Franny. A lot of folks first impression to me when they got there for the first time is "Graceland is nice but I can't believe Memphis let the surrounding area get so bad".
I'm glad to see it, and it shouldn't affect the actual Mansion grounds but it'll help everything else. At night the area around Graceland really isn't that safe anymore.

The home of elvis must stay the home of elvis and not an attraction. We must keep alive the spirit of the real king of rock and roll.

As long as it is tastefully done, I am all for the amelioration of Graceland and the surrounding area.
Robert Sillerman is the best thing to happen to the Elvis Legacy in many a year.

It's the second most visited house in America, which was redecorated following his death.
It's already a huge attraction.
I believe the area surrounding Graceland needs to renovated. Last August the whole area was looking terrible in my opinion and that was just after Bush and the Japanese leader had visited.
The Lisa Marie jet is rusting badly, that needs to housed inside a hanger and restored on the outside.
As for the surrounding area - Graceland is such an attraction that really better services need to be offered. Heartbreak Hotel is a not a top class hotel and is far from it, the food that is offered by EPE is terrible. If someone wants to eat properly, all EPE can offer is burger and chips basically.
This August I hope to see an improvement, but im pretty sure I wont.
Another thing, apart from the Peabody and the Madison there is no really decent hotel in Memphis, that needs to be sorted out also. The Hilton is too far from everything.

Do you know Comfort Inn Downtown hotel? It?s 10 minuts walking distance to Beale street and has nice comfortable rooms at a rasonable price. Stayed there 2 times and liked it very much ;)

went I was In Memphis back in 1988, It's bad that time, It's first Time I see Bars On Windows and doors On Some Business, It might got wrose now.
I learn that no place is safe it was. I'm living in Greensboro, NC, not A year and it's bad how people are they driving they will drive over you in parking lot, I'm not used that , now I watch all over I'm walking from my car to store.
You have to make it safe for yourself and famliy that's key , don't worry how it look sometimes the looks can fool you, I know that Fact.

I think the area around Graceland needs a lot of improvement. I don't mind what they do as long as Graceland itself and it's own grounds are left as they are. But definetly the surrounding areas could do with some work.
