I read this news somewhere and I thought you will be interested to hear this too:
What has happened to elvis presley,s image in the name of getting someone to pay them. They have this man,s name and image on everything, his home was his sanctuary and it has been brought to the level of trash.what next toilet paper?
whomever of this needs to be replaced.this has gone too far.
I was shocked and disguised today to learn that pictures which will appear in the upcoming sports illustrated swimsuit issue of a "topless" model, tori Praver were taken at humes middle School auditorium in memphis, TN.
Who at the school approved usage of the property? who would clear the way for risque- let alone Topless photos taken at a school.
In addition other photos depict the model nearly naked in various poses in Graceland mansion.
this is the contact information for Humes highschool: Don,t bother calling EPE .No one can answer the question as to who approves this.

So what?

It's a school, they have a right to conduct their business as they see fit. It's no business of yours, mine or anyone else's ...

I don't think anyone would see it and go "Oh, Elvis went there, didn't he?" and suddenly think bad of the school or of Elvis.

And as discussed on a couple of other threads re the SI photoshoot, either you'll agree with Graceland etc being used for this sort of thing or you won't. Personally, I'm totally fine with it. I find most of the crap EPE sells at Graceland and elsewhere much more offensive.

Rattling your sabre about it will be a waste of time and effort. And the model may have been topless, but nothing serious was showing.

Frankly, knowing how Elvis loved women so much I think he'd enjoy it!!

Let's not get our panties in a wad over this. Geez....*rolls eyes*

I realize that some/all of us are hardcore fans but I think we tend to go way overboard in our reactions to some things regarding Elvis...it's not like we can do anything about it, anyway...

It's a school...they can do whatever they want to do...same way with Graceland....EPE can do whatever it wants.

Some people just need to get a grip and get a life....

Given the number of scantily clad females that Elvis had in his homes over the years, maybe it's quite appropriate ;)

Its not porn, or anything like that, Sports Illustrated its always good taste, so? what's the problem with these photos? I think this is O.K.

P.S. Could I request permision to the moderators to upload some of those pics at Graceland here in TCB WORLD?

I don't see anything wrong. Only thing Elvis did was go to school there. Now it might be bad if they took like picture of elvis and computer it into the picture then I would have a problem. But kids still go school there and etc. So there is no big deal.

Love to all,

I don't find it offensive in any way. We all know for a fact that Elvis had naked chicks at his house. He loved sports and girls, so it stands to reason.
People these days are on to publicity stunts like this. They are not fooled that easy. When People see it will be view as, ahh this is what they are doing to promote Elvis or wow look at them boobs, oh it says they're at Graceland, Elvis' house...ohh okay,,,, but look at them boobs!"
Anyway, people love and respect the man that lived in Graceland, not the building Graceland.
I do agree with you on, these people that took over Elvis' name. It's been nuttin but weak ads lately.

OK, thanks, no need to upload them again then, I should go to the news area more often, I just needed to make sure some people take a look at them before they make anykind of statements.

I do agree with the fans that think EPE is not doing enough or almost nothing about promoting Elvis as an artist, and that his credibility as real musician gets totally underestimated or even buried in between the amount of crap that EPE is regulary is delivering as marketing stuff. Yet, it is also true that you need marketing these days in order to keep a name alive, the question is what type of promotional stunts will get us to the place we want to be.

True, this Sports Illustrated thing is not related in a direct way about bringing Elvis music to the front spot, but in terms of updating Elvis image and to project that image to a new audience, a fresher one than his older fans and a mature one than the one that reached Lilo & Stich, its a good move, not a master move, but its definetively one good step away from Elvis image related with Donuts, impersonactors and low quality memorablia. Sport Illustrated its fine magazine, cool it down with the moral speeches, its not porn or anything vulgar, seems that some fans wanted to see those girls only from the waist, no, from neck up!!! and please don't come up with the this kind or photos has nothing to do with Elvis image argument, because what about the amount of lovely girls on 31 Elvis Presley movies? were they in the movies for his acting skills? and what about the amount of girls that became Elvis fans and went to see those movies not for Elvis singing talent, but because they wanted to see in Elvis the same thing we boys liked to see in his co-stars and what we will enjoy seeing in that S.I. edition.

Why all those problems?...the blond lady on the front page in the jungle room is a beautiful girl:D and elvis liked pretty girls...so i don't see the problem...
And about how people will think bad about Elvis, because it was in his house with alot of half-naked girls and on his school,he didn't make the decision of this photoshoot in his house,so you can't blame him for that.

I personally don't see anything obscene about the photos. They're quite tasteful actually.
