Information:
The last stop on this tour (july 8th - 24th) was Asheville, NC, 3 shows where set up for the people in North Carolina, all 3 shows where sold out, 7437 saw each show. Before the 3rd and final show Elvis had set up an request box in the lobby at the Civic Centre, so that the audience could put song requests, strang songs like "Return to sender", "wooden Heart" where among the songs that night.

He also gave away his guitar that night, a lucky guy in the audience sure got a nice pice from our man, 2 diamond rings where also given away to the audience. This was also his last tour in almost 8 months, 5 Vegas shows in august and 16 vegas shows in december, plus the New Year`s eve show at the Silverdom.

They had a big write up in the paper last year about the asheville concerts,the lucky guy that elvis gave the ring to keeps it in a vault it shows his picture of him waring the ring and its for sale it says he turned down a offer of 28,000 for it,i still have the paper,says elvis tossed his guitar in the audeince and two people caught it and held onto it thought elvis would wont it back instead elvis called on of them up on stage and took his ring off and said whats 16,000 thousand dollers and hands him the ring!great story

On the 'poll' section there should be a 'zero' vote because that suit is bloody awful......The trousers are O.K. I suppose, but I hate the top. I don't know what Elvis was thinking, and his designers should have known better. Elvis didn't need all that flashy junk.....YUK...... (n)

For me, this jumpsuit is too much. Maybe without that front detail.
I tried to change it so that you understand what I mean, but the only program that works on my PC today is Paint. :angry: Not very helpfull! :'(

PS. This is one of my favorite suits. Believe it or not I'm having this suit done by B & K Enterprises... who is run by one of elvis suit makers in 70s. That passed away few years back.

One of the official nicknames of this suit is "Totem Pole" . It seems that the symbols on the suit (hands, eyes) are symbols that can be found on Native American totem poles too. This is a suit you have to see for real. I never see a picture that shows what this suit is really about. This goes for a lot of others suits too.

By the way, the belt Elvis is using on this suit during the July 1975 tour is NOT the belt that was originally designed for this suit. He started to use the original belt in December 1975 in Las Vegas.
The belt he used in the posted pictures was originally designed for the "Navy Blue Two-piece with Red Armadillo Shoulders".

I like that suit. Elvis should have worn more black suits instead of all the white ones. It may have been a bit too much color, but it's still a nice suit. Especially when you watch super8 clips of the king wearing this suit it looks very good (better then on pictures).

i absolutely hated this suit when i first saw pictures of it. but having come back to this thread after a while, it has really grown on me. i reckon it's one of those things that just need a bit of time to be appreciated, and i suppose you'll never really know the effect of it, good or bad, unless you actually saw elvis in it. but anyway, i really don't mind it now. in some of the pictures, elvis looks pretty amazing.

sure, he is a bit chubby there in the ones from December, but good pics, which i ahve not seen before. i ahve the show Dinner at Eight from these pics, and it is quite a decent show. I have footage from the August 18 show,and he put ona pretty **** good show, good version of Polk Salad Annie,and powerful version of How Great Thou Art

BTW, although not the best of his suits, it is pretty cool design, i don't mind it

I absolutley love this particular suit! It is truly beautiful to look at, especially when you see it live. In 1975 at Long Island, New York, I saw Elvis in this suit. It is really great looking in concert!

Don't get me wrong, I love the black suits, just not this one. Too flashy and I agree the neckline is aweful, as well as the horizontal bar right on his stomach. It's far too much for me. He didn't really need all this flash, a little is allright but this is too much. I concur with the " Elvis does Ozzy Osbourne" comment. It does bring some of his outfits to mind.

I liked this style suit, it was flashy but it was good because I thought it hid the weight a little. When I saw Elvis on 3-22-76 he wore the Blue Aztec which is similar. The BlueGypsy is better than the Blue Aztec though.

This suit makes Elvis look fatter than he was...or highlights how fat he really was. But it is true, many of these jumpsuits have to be seen to be appreciated. This one is beautiful in person, but maybe Elvis should have left it on the rack. Awful.

I've always liked this suit in spite of it being flashy. I also like the Bear Claw but this one better. Maybe I've been influenced by the fact that he face looks so healthy in spite of the weight gain and also looks happy. I think this was a fun year for him.

Gail and I have discussed several times how much we disliked this suit. I think we referred to it as his clown suit. We just got back from seeing it really close and in detail in Memphis. The work on it is fabulous, that's for sure, but it's just too much of a good thing...IMO. Plus...I think that is such a strange neckline for him to wear.:blink::blink::king:

This an awful jumpsuit its gawdy and vulgar in its flash . The front design makes his stomach look so prominent and swollen . This was definitely an occasion when Elvis was surrounded by yes men . Couldnt one of them have told him how unflattering it was and as for what he is wearing around his neck with it , awful

Overall, I think jumpsuits didn't look great on Elvis after 1974, but this is the one exception. I love this suit, and I think it goes great with who he was at the time, and I always thought it made him look thinner.
