listening to various songs, albums, it seems ELVIS voice just got better over the years , as he sang anything he really wanted and most times he pulled it off, i love the way his voice sounded between 62-65, on songs like-anything thats part of you, what now what next....and others, by the time 69 rolled around his voice was like a bed of gravel, anf=d the songs he recorded at the american sessions all were done with great consideration and only made me like ELVIS more, come 70, 71. 7, 73, the voice got deeper and the repitoire better , what now my love, my boy, mountain, make the world go...just pretend, 75 , his voice was incredibly srtrong, and on versions of how great, his voice would pierce your soul[how great version on just pretend cd], shake a hand, fairytale, you'll never walk alone[from the nassau 75 show on americas own import] a great version of this song and a tste of what was to come with ELVIS and his performances, 76-not a great year for E.P. and many live performances were dismal, but some great tracks were recorded, like hurt[never liked studio version] live this song most of the times was performed amazingly, solitaire, love comming down, never fall in love again [a better version i think than tom jones , though many critics pan as lackluster], i think the greates version of fairytale was performed live at THE NEw YEARS 76 performance[his vocals are just solid on this song, this knight], 77 comes in with a bang, and we get what is to be our last studio album from ELVIS , and one that is very good, interspersed with live tracks, and studio, the title track is fantastic, a great up tempo country song, if you love me a great live performance-by now ELVIS voice is very deep like a baritone, but he can still bring out a great falsetto , which he did many a time on little darlin, unchained..., she thinks i still care... only three of the songs on this album were prerformed live to my knoledge, moody never got the treatment it deservd , unchained, was a;ways performed with intrest, and showed a bit of the range his voice had at the time-not like rags to riches the year before, sadly these would be the last performances that we would witness, and THE GREATEST VOICE[EVER[ was silenced , but still is played/packaged on cd till today , thank GOD for all the albums then and now that we can enjoy over and over and hear that voice get better and better, some compare it to a fine wine, i compare it to a great love, that gets stronger and stronger through the years, THANK YOU ELVIS PRESLEY , for being.and sharing THAT VOICE , with all of us .

At the american sessions Elvis had a really bad cold, he even took days off. I think the some of the hoarseness in his throat is because of that. I like the sound of it though. The 69 sessions are where some of my favourite Elvis songs came from.

I think there's a real emotional depth to his voice in the later years, a genuine pathos of a lonely man who uses what he is to cry out for help. Listen to him in '76 and '77 and its an extraordinary guy, with an extraordinary talent making an extraordinary appeal. The last concerts on the CBS tapes are just full of so much talent and emotion I want to get on the stage through my TV screen and be his friend, help him. 'Cause I don't think any of his hangers on were real friends, or maybe just too afraid of him, cause he was the king. But here is a man who has so much and it slips away, not pathetically but in a glorious swan song. I hear you now Elvis! A lot of us do now hear that cry you made - now in heaven, where there is no time, feel the love and friendship - you ain't alone no more buddy.

So beautifully said, it would be lovely if people could show their regard in this way, more often
