To me I wished Elvis wore this jumpsuit more than he did in 1974. That probley why is one of jumpsuits I bought to wear at my tribute shows. It had so much detail and Mad Tiger too.

Really a great looking suite, with a beautiful design on it.

Elvis had alot of great looking suites made in 1974. Wish he'd worn these more often.

This is a beautiful jumpsuit. No doubt the influence is karate. Actually, that dragon is a nice cross between a Chinese style dragon and a European version.

'Course, I'm just goin' by pictures here - I ain't never seen a real dragon...

I Agree with You, The Tiger Suit just doesn't do it for me. And The Dragon is one of them Jumpsuit that only Elvis could get away with wearing.
No one else does it justice. That goes for lots of his Jumpsuits.

I love both the Dragon and the Mad Tiger Suits. If I'm correct, it's an obvious symbol of his love and passion for Kenpo Karate.

The Dragon, in Kenpo, represents spiritual strength which comes from seasoning. This mental attitude is attained during the individuals later years of training. It is placed above earthly strength (as represented on the Kenpo decal/patch) since the individual at this stage has learned to develop humility and self-restraint.

who made the name of this suit?i do love the style and the dragon onit.but it surely not chinese dragon.chinese dragon has no wings.and we call it as loong .Loong is generally regarded as benevolent, powerful, worshipful and lucky. It is thought the source of wind and rain.Loong used to be the symbol of Chinese emperors. Now it stands for luck, happiness and power by ordinary Chinese people.

i think It is wrong to translate loong as dragon in English. In fact, loong is so different in nature from dragons.i am not sure if i should say it here.but it's true:P

i believe the design to be more mythical then trying to place it in ethnic origin , the same with the tiger suit, gene said he designed it a few times in which the first looked like the ringling bros circus tiger so he changed it. also the phoenix suits were to be zebra design until Elvis first saw the design upside down and thought it was a bird with funny looking feet. So gene then made it into a phoenix but you see the zebra pattern and the belt is all zebra pattern. they should call the phoenix suit the zebra mishap instead of phoenix.

Amazing suit, and the detail is most likely my favorite of all the embroid suits. i think the belt could have had more desgin with artwork instead of the large buckles, but i believe the front and others two buckles were to represent Gongs .
