Hi Gang,
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY one & all.

I had a good chat with Ernst the other day and in the interview Ernst talks about his future SUN project, the possible conflict/overlap between it and Pirzada's M.R.S. books, the future of FTD etc...

Ernst talks about the music content on the SUN project..
EIN ? How much on CD3 is going to surprise people?

Ernst ? Not too much, but it is going to sound better than they have ever heard before. There?s obviously going to be the copy of ?That?s All Right? from Meridian 1955 which is kinda? cool. There?s also a handful of other pieces that people have never heard before, plus Kevan has been working on the radio recordings like ?Fool, Fool, Fool? to get them sounding much better. And also on CD2 there will also be a few little bits and pieces including outtakes that people have never heard before. Nothing earth shattering but it will be very nice to listen to.

We?re still negotiating on one more particular track, not a rare song but another performance we would like to include. But unless the owner moves on from the high price that FTD cannot even consider, then we?re not getting anywhere.

Ernst also talks about how often he visits Elvis message boards and sales of FTD. Also whether illegal downloads will kill off FTD.

EIN ? What about the problem of people downloading FTDs?

Ernst ? It is sad that on the message boards people have even noted places where you can download FTDs for free. When I checked before Christmas the downloads of one FTD was higher than our sales! This seems ridiculous as this will ruin FTD if people keep supporting this site. Of course some fans will have downloaded the CD because they couldn?t wait for it to arrive in their mailbox. However the person who is doing this is obviously out to damage Follow That Dream and we need to expose who he is. The consequence may be that eventually we can?t release any more FTDs. The Elvis world is also a strange culture of heroes and villains. But it?s the same with every subculture like Elvis, Dylan or whoever.

I hope you find it as interesting as I did,
Cheers

I enjoyed his previous book Day by Day. I'd be curious to know what "mistakes" he thinks were made in it.

This something To Read, He needed To listening to Fans that's can't buy them not at 29.99 or 34.99 for one cd, I got Few FTD Cd's, At early Times, before they raise the cost of them, I want The " THat's Way It Was", was release, The Cost too high for me, I'm On Fix Income.
I think there place in Stores For FTD releases, maybe not All Soundboards.
there room for The Album Classics releases in Music Market If It In Music Stores not In Stores liked K-mart or Wart-mart.
, The RCA/BMG marketing don't keep touchs With Elvis Fans In USA, I know That From Past Releases they did In 1980's.
I liked to see release is August 13/70. Dinner Show , That's something RCA/BMG releases Not On FTD, We got pieces Of Show release by RCA.
It's out there because It was Too be releases On Bootleg in 2002. it Didn't.
I wish I can Talk To Ernst. Oh Will. I can go one for never with is, exuse me with my writing ok.

The FTD albums are nearly £20 per album in the UK. Some of us cannot afford expensive albums. We know they are better quality albums. If you shop on the Internet you will have to wait years for them to drop to a reasonable price. You can't blame fans for downloading FTD albums for free.

Thanks, Piers.

I agree with Unchained there are no message boards who let you download full FTD Albums, I understand why people use p2p, but those who can afford them should buy them to keep FTD afloat (y)

I do not know one message board that gives away complete FTD downloads?

I guess Ernst is talking about P2P / sharing sites, this is not same as a message board Ernst.;)

Ernst doesn't say there are messageboards that you can download FTDs from. He says that the locations where you can download them have been noted on messageboards.

I think FTD is doing a good job,so it will be a shame if it will be ruined by some people:mad:
