the in concert album [77 cbs] is an album i always liked and listened to quite often[really don't wanna know, hurt, tryin,,how greatetc..] and i always hated the sound[sonds as if he is singing behind a thick blanket], but love the tracks , and the fact that rca chose to release this, i thought when it would come on cd that it would get full revamping treatment, not the case, none of the original albums to cd did[something that should have bin done] yes later on we got the revamps of moody and ep boulevard etc.. but again not all the original ones- in concert would greatly benefit from this, especially with modern tech, we can only imagine how great, even though the tracks were recorded in mono and in very bad conditions[bad reverb, 8 track source etc]we also know that there wre overdubs done with guitar, backing voices [janey frikki] etc.. but it didn't improve the overall sound, something that should have bin a great priority with this album and release, especially on cd, so my question is , anyone outhere think this should be revamped along with all the original albums on cd?

I have liked the "In Concert" album too. But I also have the feeling it was released to hasty as if Elvis would have been forgotten if they took more time. My only disappointment was the fact it is a real soundtrack album of the special instead of a live registration. Maybe it's time to turn it into a real live dubble album with both performance on it and without the fan talking.
The dubbings that have put on later are a normal thing. No live album is ever released without it. During the recording of a live album some thing are always going wrong or the sound isn't what it had to be. So they will dub in some things at a later stadium.
I would welcome a revamped version on the FTD label. It's the only way it will ever happen.I bought the japenese paper sleeve version. The sound is better on that release.

Yes, I think an FTD version is the way to go. Both shows complete of course. I think I'd rather see the CD version than a DVD version.
There was an Australian CD version that came out a while back, and the sound was better than the US release ...

I like see like JAK and srj a FTD Label CD of both shows complete but maybe 4 CD Box set of Lincoln and maybe his very last concert too? If they can find his very last concert on soundboard recording...I'm sure its out there some where.
Love to all,

Yes, FTD would be the label to release it on, nice 7 inch release!
Cool album, but it definately should be remixed and re-edited! And of course with the uncut versions of both See See Rider and I Got A Woman.

This could definately do with an overhall, take the fans comments out beacuse this is just awful when taken out of context of the show.
An FTD release would be awesome.

he sure was solid on HOW GREAT, and i loved his attempt at FAIRYTALE[could do without charlies vocals], but i agree that his voice was good on some of te songs he done that night, i sure hope/wish that ftd would release a package deal with all the spring, and summer tour shows, or a best of 77 compilation, maybe with a book, sure hope we get the sounboard tape of the INDIANAPOLIS performance-apparently, the owner of this tape is holding out for big bucks[good luck], but all the same , i sure hope we get a revamped version of this album , by whatever source/means, be it bmg, or rca.
