I've always heard that he didn't drink at all - not even beer. I think that's mentioned in a number of well-known interviews.

It's my understanding that Elvis never drink alcoholic beverages, due to the fact that other members of his family drank too much.

Reportedly there was a phase in the mid-sixties when he did some drinking, particularly when they would go to Vegas on their way home from California. I believe it was usually a vodka-based drink, like those meg mentioned, that he favored during that time.

And there is a story about how during the making of Change of Habit some people on the set had some blackberry brandy. Some was offered to Elvis and he liked it, so on the way home he had the guys buy some more, which they drank in the car until Elvis got very sick and lost his lunch in the backseat.

At any rate, by all accounts these were pretty rare occasions. Think of his reaction to the sip of champagne from the fan at the show on TTWII. That is not someone who is used to drinking alcohol.

Where in TTWII is this? Not in the SE, right? I have the SE. Is there any way to see this?

Yes, Elvis did drink but only in moderation. According to Priscilla and others, he didn't mind the odd scotch. There's also the myth that he never smoked cigarettes, but he did sometimes throughout his life.

There was that time on the set of Wild In The Country when Elvis had a painful boil on his ***. He had to have it popped, so he got very drunk and co-star Hope Lange (also a little tipsy) acted as nurse and popped it ... :'(

OUCH!

Hey, man, that is one freaked out story! Never heard it - not even sure if I want to remember it now that I've heard it...

Naw, I'm gonna delete it. Somethings I just don't need to know.

That's correct. It hadn't occurred to me how that was a scene that did not make it into the Special Edition, but that is the case.

It certainly looked to be champagne...the way I remember it, anyway.

Judging by the type of glass I'd say it was a martini he was given by the audience member.

The Key word is moderation, He didn't try get drunk, I hear from one I work with was At Show In Seattle 1976, He smell alcohol on Elvis, We never know that was true or not.
There people do drink in moderation way and never get drunk there life.
So what Elvis drink little bit.
question: for everyone, whom are ones say they don't drink, but have little bit at partys or something special.
I used To Drink I was In My 20's, I got older my Tummy not handle The alcohol, I wasn't more Beer drinker, because of my sister.
, we know Elvis Smoke Cigers, That's bad as smoking Cigerettes I know I used to smoke them(Cigers) alot., I might have few them every 6 months so, the pack of 5 cigers last me 4 weeks now, I used smoke 2 pack in 5 days
It's On My Mood.
so what Elvis drinks little bit and smokes,
PS like one person say i didn't know he goes To bathroom, it's At a football game in 1975. Elvis talks about in his shows In Las Vegas 8/75

First of all, everybody thank you for you replies:)
I know Elvis did drink booze but not very much.
He didn't like the taste of booze very much and he liked mountain valley water
and gatorade very much:P
I saw this standing in the lisa marie airplane and there also was standing whiskey
But he just preferded that other two,but the mythe he didn't drink is not true.
I also have seen that footage of Elvis drinking in TTWII.

In TTWII Elvis takes a wine glass from an audience member and says,
"Never finish the show folks-heres to you" he then sips and makes a slight face as if its strong. He then takes the glass and walks accross the stage then starts his walk through the audience. I also have heard he did not drink much but when he did it was vodka based things.
