i think the version of JUST PRETEND found on the boot of the same name [L.Y. DEC 13 75] is the best i have come across yet, i listened to all the takes of the song that i have, from various releases both import and official, and i really love this version , hell i love the whole performance, it still remains one of the greatest boots ever[just my opinion], thanks again to TALL HAIR for putting this out on cd some 16 years ago.

I like them all. I like that is found on the TTWII SE three disc set. When the line "Oh, it's funny" then he starts to laugh. I like that.

My favorite version would have to be from August 12, 1970 that is found on the TTWII 3-CD set....

Although, the master take on the 70s box set is pretty darn good, too...*hee hee*

One of my favorite renditions of the song is on the Vegas Live Box set. I believe the version came from 1975.

I've always liked any 1970 version of the song. You could tell he enjoyed singing the song, and that always brought out the best in Elvis.

Any version of Just Pretend by EP is beautiful. It's one of his most touching songs. I remember when I had That's the Way It Is on - get this now - 8 track! Man, I wore that tape out.

I've always liked any 1970 version of the song. You could tell he enjoyed singing the song, and that always brought out the best in Elvis.I remember in TTWII, when he sang this song, Elvis had such a big smile on his face......pure, unadulterated joy........(y)

Live version has to be hands down, the self titled bootleg Just Pretend.

But the studio master, without overdubs or the finished master, is one of the most emotionally perfect songs of Elvis's entire career. It sounds like he is crying, and it makes me feel like it too. Amazing stuff. He was the best in 1969 and 1970
