I thought i'd extend on a thread by srj1967. Instead of Elvis worst song, (most will be movie tracks). What do people here think are his most underrated movie songs. Must be in the movie not a bonus song. oh yeah and exclude the Tickle Me soundtrack as the weren't recorded for the pic.
I really like the feel of City By Night, I adore So Close Yet So Far From Paradise.

I think "WHAT´D I SAY" is one of the most underrated ELvis performances ever; the song itself is a classic, but Elvis performance its superb, one of his best R&B sides from th early 60's along with Reconsided Baby, Feel So Bad or Little Sister, but just because it was from a movie soundtrack no one seems to pay to much attention to it, yet someone did, in 1966 John Mayall and the Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton made a cover of the Ray CHarles sOng, but their reindition wasn't inspired on the '59 record but in the '63 version that Presley did.
Anyway I think ELvis "What'd I Say" its a great sounding record, its Elvis at his best.

Yes, "Almost in Love" is great, sounds like a song Frank Sinatra or Tony Bennett would have done. Hopefully some of these underrated songs will make it onto the remix album supposedly coming out.

Roastabout! DOnt care much about the movie but the soundtrack, the complete LP it self as it was released (and now with the Bonus Roatabout No1) I think it was a great sounding record for that period, I think is as good as Gi Blues, BLue Hawaii or even King Creole, we must not forget it went right to the NO 1 spot edging out of the game The Beach Boys, and it only could be beated of the No1 position by Beatles '65, yet it reamined on the Top 10 longer that any other soundtrack of the mid 60's.
For a short while I guess it made look that Elvis had left behind the boring stuff like It "Happended at THe WOrlds Fair", and was back into the Rock and roll stuff or at least on good quality Pop music. Unfortunately that didn´t happend till four years latter... (Imagine if we had had ELvis: the 64' comeback special hehe)
