Elvis is still in the Cinema August 2003.
In Elaine Dundy's informative book "Elvis and Gladys" on pages 98/99 Raymond McCoy a classmate of Elvis, remembers Elvis at school and how his vivid imagination was already taking shape.
Imagine our surprise when Raymond picked us up at Memphis Airport and drove us to Tupelo. In the process telling us all about his own life story, and how he became a small part of The Elvis Story.
What a charming and genuine man.
Raymond drove us back to Memphis a week later. If only I had taken a tape recorder!!! Nevertheless we heard a first hand account of his life in Tupelo and how he too went away from Tupelo, to pursue a career in engineering.
We a have a photo of him taken the morning we were leaving the Mockingbird Inn.
